Best new restaurants?

Acadia just opened in the South Loop. I’ve only been to their NYE special so far, so I can’t comment on their regular menu, but for what it’s worth, the NYE special was great. I’ve also seen several good reviews of their regular menu.

Breakfast/brunch and bar spots near Grant Park during Lollapalooza help

There are a couple new places in the area that should all be open by the time Lollapalozza starts.

1. The Scout Waterhouse & Kitchen - Was scheduled to open in June and looks like they are are ready so hopefully they will open any day now. Should be a fun bar with above average bar food and a DJ at night.

2. Waffles - Was also supposed to open in June, but as far as I know isn't open yet. I can't wait for this place to open. A couple of the people involved are/were from Japonais and the Bristol. Should be a good breakfast place.

3. Tribute - Just opened this past Thursday. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but I have high hopes for this place. It is in the Essex Inn right across the street from Grant Park and will hopefully be good for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and/or drinks.

Suggestions - Pre-movie Dinner close to Kerasotes ICON on Roosevelt

I think two of the best restaurants in the area are Custom House ( ) and South Coast ( South Coast is down on 18th and Michigan, but you said you have your car and parking isn't too bad down there.

Also, in addition to the places nsxtasy named are:
Jimmy Greens (Bar Food) -
Flo and Santos (Bar Food - Polish and Pizza) -
Tapas Valencia -

Need some help deciding on my final two restaurants

You might want to consider The Publican for Friday night. It is lively, has similar food to the Purple Pig, is closer to the United Center and you can make reservations on Open Table.

Best Steak/ Steakhouse on a budget?

I agree with the Tango Sur suggestion. They are BYOB which will also help keep the costs lower. Also, like chicgail said, they waits can be long, but they will take a cell phone number so you can go to one of the near by bars on Southport why you wait for your table. Although, if you are anything like me spending an hour or two waiting for a table in a bar won't help keep your costs down any.
