Bouche Noel in WMass or N. CT?
ANyone know where I can find authentic (and delicious) bouche noel, the french youle log roll, made to look like a tree stump, usually with chocolate on outside, with merengue mushrooms, etc for decoration? Thanks a lot!
Looking for a SF restaurant that can seat a group of 20-25 people.
Our faculty is having a "night out" in SF in March and I am looking for a restaurant which can accommodate 20-25 of us all!
We are not fussy, but a fairly interesting and fun place with a varied dinner menu would be great. Location is not a real big deal, but we will be having cocktails at a colleague's place near Dolores Park earlier in the evening.
Places with views are great, as are music/DJ, and places with an eclectic menu.
Someone mentioned Cha-Cha's and Shroeders (a German place)... any other suggestions would be wonderfully helpful!

breakfast in Palo Alto
Ken Zamen on University serves good breakfasts, with indoor and outdoor seating. If you can get a cab, Dinah's Motor Lodge has a wonderful pool area and outside (or inside) dining and big omelets. Its on El Camino, north of San Antonio.
Best Croissant in SF/Bay Area?
Can any croissant the Bay Area has to offer come close to anything in Paris? My favs are those carmelized "almondine" croissants in Paris... so heavy and dense, with the edges and bottoms carmelized, filled with sweet almond paste, inside those flakey and crusty and buttery crosissants... ahhh... any you have had come close? Regular, chocolate, almond, etc. are fine! Im just lookign for those crisp/flakey shells, with light, soft airy interiors, and a delicate crumbly texture. C'est possible ici, non?
Dinner and Drinks at the Elks in SF?
I heard the best deal in SF is the Friday night dinners and drinks at the SF Elks in Union Square. Anyone go to these dinners, and do you have to be a member for Friday dinners?
I hear they are a great deal, delicious, and the bar has a lively scene at nights with cheap drinks!
