Fresh Fava Beans in Brooklyn?
Closer to Park Slope, they have them now (and during most of the spring/summer) at Rossman Farms at 26th and 3rd.

Good eats in/near Dyker Heights Holiday lights
It is probably not better than Bamboo Pavilion (haven't been there, but heard good things universally), but Grand Sichuan House at 87th and 5th is also excellent Sichuan and may be more conveniently located if you're coming into Dyker Heights from the Bay Ridge/R Train side rather than the Bensonhurst D Train side. We ended up there after our visit last year (on Christmas Eve, no less) and had a great meal.

Romanesco/ Squash or Zuchini Blossoms/ Ramps/ Samphires in QUEENS??
I haven't been this summer, but last summer you could usually get squash & zucchini blossoms at the Jackson Heights farmers' market, Sundays 8-3 on 34th ave between 77th and 78th streets.
Decent non-Asian/Mexican near Sunset Park/Borough Park?
Yeah, I have been over that way a bit (went to a Bangladeshi street fair on McDonald a few weeks ago) but not much yet. Any particular recommendations? Especially ones which might deliver all the way over to 9th, though that might be a stretch for these types of places.
Desserts/Bakeries/Sweets in/around Sunset Park (Bay Ridge, Boro Park, etc)
I like Kaff's Bakery (Jewish/Eastern European) on 46th and Fort Hamilton Parkway. I buy the bread regularly (6 grain or pumpernickel) and the chocolate roll things (not rugelach - the bigger ones - the rugelach are just OK) and black & white cookies are good. Not a destination spot but worth stopping by if you are in the area.
There are lots of kosher bakeries in Boro Park - not sure which other ones are best for sweets (I kinda adopted that one due to its proximity to me more than anything else) but maybe someone knows more.
Decent non-Asian/Mexican near Sunset Park/Borough Park?
I live near the 9th ave D stop in Sunset Park, edging in on Borough Park to the east.
We have a lot of good (and a few great) Asian and Mexican options nearby, but we're sometimes not in the mood for that, and picking outside those categories are slim so far as I can tell.
So... does anyone here know of any food that is
a.) Not Asian or Mexican (nothing against these cuisines, love 'em both, just looking for variety)
b.) Reasonably good
c.) Within delivery or convenient walking distance for takeout of the aforementioned D stop (around 9th/39th)?
Note that my standard here is just "reasonably good" - I realize there are probably no great destination spots around here that fit those criteria.
But I'm slightly hopeful that there might be a solid pizza place, deli, diner, schwarma, etc. that I haven't heard tell of which might be a step up on our current fallbacks when we're tired of noodles/tacos and don't want to haul to Park Slope or Bay Ridge.
Thanks, Hounds!
