I've been waiting for Bluecoat American Dry Gin to appear on LCBO shelves but no luck so far. Mr Leny is thrilled Tito's Handmade Vodka is now a regularly stocked item. I quite like Victoria Gin myself.

I have been hoping for LCBO to bring back Charbay Blood Orange Vodka. It was brought in for Vintages release quite a few years ago. It was phenomenal, IMHO. I truly regret not stocking up.

Have you tried roasted mate tea? I'm just drinking the mocha hazelnut mate from Herbal Infusions and it's great. Here's a brief description from their website:

So glad for the new location at Bayview & Major Mac. It is much closer to home but not as large as the Yonge/Steeles location (our usual).

We were at Bayview location on the weekend and were very pleased expect for a couple of minor quibbles. My vegetarian spring roll was much greasier than the Thornhill location but overall I was very happy with my vegetarian vermicelli which included chopped mint which I never got at the other place. Unfortunately the fresh chili pepper that came with my husband's pho was rotted on the inside.

Because it is closer to home, takeout is definitely an option if there are line ups.

Bought the Seville orange marmalade. Very tasty ... also seems to be a good ratio of orange peel bits to jam. It would make Paddington very very happy :)

Fair price and better quality products in Farmer's Market - Not neccessarily!!

Thanks for the info! It's sad (and criminal) that consumers are being duped like this. There should definitely be regulations but I doubt that will ever happen. The old adage "buyer beware" still applies.

I have also visited this market and suspect some of the vendors are re-sellers. We have bought tomatoes that were more tasteless than supermarket tomatoes if that's possible. I have also found the prices to be rather high. I was not impressed.

Wish the Village Market at Waldorf school had better hours.

Got some at a roadside stand (Hwy 47) in Goodwood Ontario on our way back from Richter's Herbs. Selling for $6/dozen. Soooo sweet and good. Their broccoli is also amazing. The fields are right next door.

We used to go when it was the Pita Stop and loved their sharwarma and falafels. I'm not sure if it is the same owners. Even so, glad to hear they are not suffering from the Restaurant Makeover curse like other Richmond Hill restaurants.

I like the Turkish Delight at Tavazo (Thornhill & Richmond Hill). I don't know how authentic it is but it is nice and soft.

Any Reports on the New Me Va Me, at Bathurst and Rutherford?

I've always heard good things about Me Va Me. I am curious as to see if it will give Hanna's Shawarma (our go-to place) across the street some competition. I noticed Hanna's seems to be expanding.

I noticed on Me Va Me's website they show delivery areas. Is this new or have they always delivered?

Loblaw's new bakery (VP/Gerrard)

They have renovated the bakery section at Hwy 7 and Bayview location as well. So far I have only tried the olive ciabatta and it's delicious.

Without a doubt, the crispy king mushrooms here are much better than Vegetarian Haven's. My vegan sister also thinks so.

Actually I found the ones at Simon's Wok tasted better than Vegetarian Haven's. Simon's were king mushrooms.
