Kansas City Pizza/Mexican Food

I cant believe that no one has mentioned Pizza Bella on Baltimore. Its a great people watching spot where they do wood fired pizza the Italian way-the egg one is to DIE FOR! The new chef/manager there is doing some great things with the pizzas as well as the daily specials and they always have a great beer to go along with your big-enough-for-two portion of cheese and dough! Try it out!

Non-mall dinner KC

I dont know where you are getting your information from but I happen to know for a FACT that you are wrong about Dalzell not using fresh. All of the soup sold at Souperman is made at 1924 and canned stock is never used there. I dont know if some of you people are just scorned ex employees with a grudge but people are on here looking for real advice on where to dine in Kansas City and I would feel extremely comfortable recommending any one of his four places. If you have a problem with the person, say so, dont take it out on your opinion of his food.

Manhattan KS dinner

Harrys Uptown is probably as upscale as your going to get in Aggieville-if you hear any reports of a wine bar called 4 olives-dont be fooled into trying it...take it from someone who used to work there it isnt worth the venture! I would suggest Harrys-high backed booths-service isnt great but the food is better than the normally offered bar and grill fare of Manhattan

Bacon-Wrapped Turkey with Pear Cider Gravy

I made this for thanksgiving as a step out of the box for my family...got a couple raised eyebrows...but before any complaints could be uttered I made them try a bite. The complaints did a 180 real quick-two thumbs up...and the presentation was great

special birthday dinner in KC - 40 Sardines or 1924 Main?

Bluestem rocks! I had the 7 course there a few weeks back...and walked out of there so full and satisfied that I thought I was going to give birth to twins! haha I love the decor and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Try the banana dessert with the chocolate consomme...I cant even use words to describe how great it was...!!!!

Going Polynesian

I wouldnt say its going to be upscale, shes having the reception out of her home and they're dressing in grass skirts-so more of a luau Poly party. I know I was tempted to do a pig roast but didnt feel like burning her place down ya know ? :)

Going Polynesian

I run a very small personal chef biz and was approached recently to cater a Polynesian/luau themed wedding party for 30-40. Now as much as I delve into different cuisines, this one is a little out of my range. Anyone have any specific cook books and/ or great recipes for this that would feed a crowd? I'd appreciate all the help I could get.

What is Your Favorite Non-Foodie Thanksgiving Dish?

well if you knew my family you would think it anything but foodie haha...my dad thinks everything should be battered and deep fried or mixed with a can of cream of mushroom soup...I cant believe this one survived his cooking past but Im glad it did!

What is Your Favorite Non-Foodie Thanksgiving Dish?

ever since I was little, the night befor Thanksgiving, my Papa would put together his own pasta dough and make homemade noodles that he would dry on a plastic table cloth (set aside just for this purpose) overnight. The next day, my mom would set aside the gizzard and some of the stock from the turkey, and cook the pasta in it with the gizzard diced up. It was so hard to decide between these noodles and the turkey because just one bowlful was enough to put you in a food coma.
My boyfriend was introduced to these "noodles" as they are simply called and he is counting down the days to Thanksgiving so that they can get reacquainted :) I think he's hooked!

KC - Cellar Rat Wine Cellar

Try Vinter's Cellar on state line and 133rd Rick Rosenbaum is the owner and a great guy! Its small and quaint-mixes and labels his own wine as well as letting people come in and make their own wine all the way to bottling and labeling...very cool. Will do private parties and wine tasting... vinterscellarkc.com

Your Kansas City Favorites

yep! they have a list of the normal fruit flavors and then a liquor list to choose from...you can mix and match whatever you like...as if boba needed to be more addicting...and boba is actually the real name for bubble tea as we refer to it here :)

Your Kansas City Favorites

Blue Koi in Westport is my biggest craving at the moment...very intimate and casual setting for a noodle house and I was in heaven over their pan-fried dumplings and spiked boba(bubble tea) A must try!!

Where do the Kansas City Foodies like to shop for, what else, food?

TESTIMONIAL! 888 is the best...I live right down the street from it and am in there at least once a week. There is a young girl that works there that can help you find anything and/or answer any questions you might have...LOVE that place!

dinner tonight for ten TRES IMPORTANTE!

I have been requested by my boyfriend to "throw together" an entree side dish and dessert for he and some of his business clients that could essentially make or break his new business. I have nothing to keep product hot with and so therefore could use a great recipe for something classy that is good cold or at room temp...arg...and it is not an ingenious thinking day for me :) help would be greatly appreciated.
