Piyaz on Union Turnpike

Went to Piyaz because of the previous posts-must say I found the service awful-waited 25 minutes before I was given a menu and then waited another 35 minutes before the food(which was good) was served. The noise level was extremely high-bring earplugs and your cellphone so that you can text each other to have a conversation. Some friends of mine went on different days and had similar experiences. It does not have a liquor license yet so I brought my own bottle of Kosher non-mevushal French wine. After 20 minutes they came to me and told me they cannot open a non-mevushal bottle even though the entire waitstaff is Jewish(Israeli). Needless to say although the food is good, I am not going to spend 45 minute or so in a very noisy restaurant before I can eat something. If they get their act together maybe I will give them another try-but like many other Kosher restaurants, they feel they have a captive audience that is used to terrible service, not me

Boston-next week-need vegetarian during restaurant week

I am going to be in Boston from 8/23-8/25 and just found out it is restaurant week. I am there to celebrate my sons wedding anniversary and we need two restaurants for dinner(one for the 23rd and one for the 24th) We do not eat meat or shell fish. In the past we have eaten at Lala Rokh. I know what happens to restaurants in NYC during restaurant week and I would rather not eat in a participating establishment. My son lives in Cambridge(poor Harvard graduate student and usually does not eat out too much and therefore does not know the restaurant scene) Any recommendations-(could be Indian, Greek, Italian, Vegetarian, decent fish(that doesnt concentrate on shellfish)

MYTHOS report - ate there today

You report that you have a very good Greek place that you would continue to go to-however, you do not name it-what is its name and where in Little Neck is it located

Queens Kosher Restaurants

try Bagels & Co on Union Turnpike and 188th Street in Jamaica Estates. They open at7 AM and have any breakfast you want. eggs, potatoes, salads, many different breads, bagels etc. Lots of tables and really good. They make everything themselves and are quite popular
