20g protein in a 100g serving? That seems impossibly high for bamboo and would make me question how accurate the "only natural" ingredients list is... Although I don't doubt they're delicious :)

Allen's from the store at Peanut Plaza are always runny! Sometimes I burn myself eating it too fast because the liquid squirts out lol...
I find when I bake the frozen ones (cooked) at home, they aren't runny though. I'm assuming the uncooked ones would come out similar to the store.

Did anyone go to the French Culinary Market with Alain Ducasse in October? There's an Italian one coming up in March with Massimo Bottura and I'm wondering if it was worth the price ($85).

Anyone see the Skyr yogurt at other locations? I don't think it sold well at Warden; stock was always close to expiry before disappearing completely a few weeks ago.

Australian Diamond Valley 'Wagyu Beef' at Ontario Costco

I don't remember a time when Costco steaks weren't tenderized. Despite the warning on the label, I still always cook their AAA steaks to medium-rare. I've been waiting for the Warden location to get the Wagyu, but no luck so far. I guess they decided the normal clientele there wouldn't be interested. Let us know how they come out so I can decide whether to drive to another store for them!

On a side note, I recently saw that the Butcher Shop in Scarborough carries dry-aged Wagyu striploins at $30/lb, so not much more than Costco. I was in a rush and didn't get details (where the beef was from, aging length, etc), but that might be an even better deal than Costco.

Imo, this place wouldn't have survived anywhere. The food was nowhere near the quality of the popular downtown spots but at the same price point. I really wanted to like this place as an uptown option for tacos would be awesome, but after 2 visits I gave up..

Big Jack Burger - Woodbine, south of Hwy#7

I've been there twice... first time was their grand opening and it was decent but the wait was long. second time I was shocked my burger was ready so fast and it was terrible. My friend went before the lunch rush a day after and saw them precooking dozens of patties in anticipation of the rush (30 minutes away) which explains why I hated my second burger. I'll never go there again. Fresh Burger on Leslie is so much better.

Has anybody seen the baby organic superfood blend lately? It was a 1lb bag from I think Earth Greens and contained baby kale, spinach and chard. I've been buying at least a bag a week for the last 6 months, but haven't seen it in a few weeks at the Warden location.

Has anyone tried the Kirkland Greek Yogurt? I've been buying the Liberte Greek since imo, it still has the best texture out of all the other yogurts there, but I'm not happy that they changed it a couple months ago:
- They changed to organic and increased the price ($1 or $2 more)
- They reduced the number of blueberry (my favourite) from 6 to 3 and increased the vanilla (my least favourite) from 3 to 6
- The organic version has less pieces of whole fruit. It's more like a puree now.

Dragon Legend reviews?

I've only been to Dragon Pearl for lunch a few times over a year ago and I've been to Dragon Legend recently for dinner. While I agree that Mandarin is one of the better Asian buffets, I'd say the food quality at Dragon Pearl and Legend is even better. I actually think the Peking duck I had at Dragon Legend is better than quite a few restaurants (although not Dayali level obviously). Dim Sum was below average though.

One thing you should be aware of at Dragon Legend is it gets crowded. The parking lot is a mess when it gets busy and there are long lines for the food. You have to line up to be served the duck and sashimi, and this can sometimes take almost 10 minutes.

Thanks for the recommendation Charles! The salted duck yolk preparation of the lobster was indeed the highlight of the meal, but every dish was great, including the free range chicken with spring onion. The complementary red bean baked bun with the flaky, buttery crust was a stand out as well!

I bought the Matilde Vicenzi Millefoglie D'italia. Really nice and flaky. Delicious! 330g doesn't sound like much, but each cookie is very light.

Are the Kirkland blueberries wild or cultivated?? I hope they don't get rid of the current wild ones by Moov. The Moov ones recently changed from organic to just say certified pesticide free, but are still wild.

Noticed the Moov frozen wild blueberries are no longer certified organic. They now say wild boreal blueberries and certified pesticide free. I still bought a bag but haven't opened it yet since I still have a quarter bag of my current one left.
