Cape Cod in November

Another question; we also cook a lot at home. Where to go for organic produce and local meats, etc? Summertime has all the Farmer's markets and CSA farms, but as far as I know they are all but closed by now... Any input greatly appreciated, thanks again!

Cape Cod in November

Great suggestions, thank you! We don't mind driving (we live in LA, so we are used to driving for good food...). We'll go probably go down to Falmouth and Chatham too. :)

Cape Cod in November

Hi all... Spending a weekend on the Cape this November. Where to eat? What is open? We'll be staying in Sandwich, but driving around quite a bit. Good, local food cooked with care preferred to anything too pretentious.
Many, many thanks!!

Steamers

Hi, just saw this thread...sorry to come on board a little late, but I think I can help. BP Oyesterette have East Coast Steamers on the menu but they're not prepared the classic way; steamed, and served with just salt water and drawn butter, BP Steamers come in some kind of broth more like a version of a Moule. It's been a while since I eat them, but they're good - just a different take on Steamers.
Also, Santa Monica Seafood on Wilshire & 10th in Santa Monica sometimes get REAL East Coast Steamers. You can by them by the sack, or by the pound. Call ahead and ask, make sure you talk to the manager as the people working there generally has no idea what you're talking about, unless you ask about very common West Coast fish. When you pick up your steamers, make sure they give you the right thing...a friend of mine came home with a sack of mussels - probably all the same to the guys at SM Seafood ;) I have also seen Chatham Cod here on occasion, but so rarely it almost feels like a mirage... Good luck!! :)

Trattoria Toscana closed for vacation - where to go??

Thank you all for your replies, will check the above mentioned places out!
Yes, MC Slim JB, I totally agree. Although so very disappointed not to be able to eat at TT (I dream about the cod pasta - aaah, East Coast fish, the pesto, and an incredible Tiramisu - might be one of the best I've had anywhere...), I completely respect his decision to close. It would be awful to go and get a lesser meal, I'd rather come back again on our next visit here :)
Thanks again!!

Trattoria Toscana closed for vacation - where to go??

Slight panic... Visiting Boston from LA, soooo looking forward to some fantastic East Coast food, especially from Trattoria Toscana, a favorite we stumbled upon last year. Just finding out that they're closed for vacation. Aaargh!!
We're staying by Kenmore Square... Where to go for a good meal after coming off the plane? Italian preferred - willing to travel for good food as we're serious foodies, but need nothing fancy or pretentious this first night, just a really good meal.
All suggestions greatly appreciated! Many thanks!
