Problems with storing fresh basil

I cut the stem off as well, stick it in a small vase, then put it on the window sill where it gets morning light. It does well here and eventually sprouts roots which I end up planting outside and they've done great. But if I only leave this on the counter with no direct light at any time of day, it doesn't do well at all and wilts by the next day. Trader Joe's basil (not in the pot) has done much better than the basil I get at any store elsewhere.

Overwhelmed by CSA... need ideas!

I'm a big fan of roasting cut up vegetables with a little olive oil, salt and pepper. I make a big batch and keep them in a large covered container in the fridge. It's a great way to have something quick but tasty and healthy. I throw some in an omelet or fritatta, add some ovee a bed of brown rice or quinoa (my personal favorite), ready made side dish as is, add to a quick soup if in a hurry, and straight out of the fridge it can be a nice salad addition to chopped Romaine hearts. I find I eat more vegetables (definately more than the 5 servings a day) when I have them roasted and easily at hand. And they don't tend to last very many days - I just love it and haven't tired of it yet. Your peppers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, possibly fennel, and the white part of the bok choy (add the green parts just before the rest are done) would be great. I also sometimes add mushrooms and asparagus. Roasted corn would also make a nice addition. Mouth is beginning to water - going to roast some right now.

Rioja anyone?

I eventually went with grilled lamb. The Rioja was ok - I wasn't all that impressed, but then I didn't know the qualities of a Rioja to begin with but, still, it wasn't particularly flavorful. I will likely try another vintage again and probably a different label to get a bit of perspective - next time with beef. Thanks.

Best non-alcoholic beer???

I've tried quite a bit of NA beer and it is hands down Clausthaler Amber for me. I switch back and forth from regular beer to Clausthaler and I never feel like I am getting less than a beer. Also like the Clausthaler regular but was thrilled when they made an amber NA.
St Pauli Girl is also good but ranks a very distant third.

What food pairing for Chateau Duhart-Milon 2003 Pauillac?

Apparently this Chateau Duhart-Milon 2003 Pauillac I've had for a couple of years is ok to open now (recommended 2010-2030 but I REALLY want it now) but not sure what to pair it with for optimum effect. Not familiar with this wine other than what I was told by the wine shop I bought it from and recent web searches. Thanks.

Rioja anyone?

I have a 1985 Marques de Riscal Rioja Reserva and have seen limited but very different reviews on this wine. Would like some input on the experience of others and what food I might serve this with before I open it up. Thanks.
