Teatro de Sale in firenze. Lunch or Dinner?

We are thinking about going to Teatro de Sale for either lunch or dinner, leaning more towards lunch. Should we consider it?

eating in venice

Anyone have ideas about where to eat in venice? Would like a few options for sitting down to a nice meal that will not be overly expensive(40E per person with perhaps house wine) nor overly stuffy. Usually we eat a shared app and a primi each, and maybe split a secondi if real hungry. No desserts .
Last trip we did alot of cicchetti, which worked out great. Want to do a combo of cicchetti and sit down dining this time around.
Have been reading all of the venice threads on the" what seem fancy" restaurants that people tend to dine in, and, really not that interested in those places. More laid back , less formal.
Any suggestions for cicchetti and seated meals?

San Miniato Truffle festival 2010

Has anyone seen the published dates for this festival for November this year? usually the last three weekends but want to be certain.
Also is it possible to return from San Miniato on the train to Florence at around 6 PM on a Saturday?

Outside dining in November

Yes, I am talking about lunch only. i remember a very impressive lunch I had on the terrace of Poggio Antico on the outskirts of Montalcino a few years ago . By far, one of the most memorable meals of my life, and such a view! I am hoping for much of the same, at least at lunchtime in the country. Dinners are absolutely meant to be enjoyed indoors hopefully near a roaring fireplace!
Thanks for all of the replies.

Outside dining in November

Planning the fall trip to Chianti area,Florence and Venice in early to mid November.
Providing the weather is somewhat rainfree, and of course not too cold, can we expect to be able to dine outside on terraces, city streets and piazzas, or do you see less of this available in the month of November? We are wanting to at best enjoy some lovely vistas in the country while we eat all of that heavenly fare!

Ideas for cheap authentic street food in the Quarter?

Good luck with that one. We dont really have alot of street food here in the city. what you can do is perhaps do a little crawling here and there and maybe order a small plate from local places in the quarter. Also try the french market on Decatur Street and sometimes they have things like gumbo and jamabaya that they sell hot and ready to eat. Honestly, the only street food I know of is the LUCKY dog and I certainly woulnt waste my appetite on that!
Good luck

finding Ice?

Now your talkin! Love me a negroni. In fact I am the only one in my group who can and will drink Campari, so I am good to go! Great suggestions from all. Thanks!
i will check out the hotel idea regarding the ice, and if not, well it'll just have to work itself out. Regardless, I am certain my trip will be, once again, wonderful

finding Ice?

i suppose I should possibly give up on the ice thing. another thought, do the italian grocery( COOP) stores sell camari and soda mini already chilled like in a 4 6 or 8 pack. I recall seeing them once in Venice but dont remember if they sold them already chilled, similiar to the way we buy beer in the states. and finally, it has been a few years since ny last journey to Italy, is it true that italians, primarily the youth culture are tending to shy away from the wine scene and are into the cocktail thing? I almost cant believe this is possible, but many forums and blogs are leading me to think this true? any thoughts here?

finding Ice?

very good point ospreycove! I remember my last trip and the ice trays(2) were so small and we were able to have about a glassworth of ice. with four "drinkers" this will just not cut it! maybe I should give up the idea of the balcony cocktails and just drink the delicious wine. Do you think I can offer one of the espresso bars something perhaps American that I can give to them as my token of appreciation for the ice( maybe something that they cannot get in Florence?)

finding Ice?

Have rented a great apartment in Florence for aprrox a week this fall.We love all of the wine that we experience but also love to sit back with a few cocktails for a change of pace.
Does anyone know where to perhaps buy a bag of ice in florence, as I remember that ice seems somewhat of a commodity most of the time. and can anyone suggest a good place to buy bottles of bourbon or vodka?
