Suggestions needed for small rehearsal dinner in New Orleans

So, THANK YOU again for all the suggestions. We ended up going w/ Herbsaint for the rehearsal dinner and Tujagues for the after-party. We love both (just got back from a nola planning weekend). And we are in love w/ Cafe Amelie and I highly suggest everyone eat there because everything we ate was really fantastic. We were told that Zagat is upping their rating to "Excellent"

Anyway thanks again. Will report after it all goes down.

Suggestions needed for small rehearsal dinner in New Orleans

Hi all,

Thanks again for the advice - we are, unfortunately, still looking. We had basically decided on EAT but while we dragged our feet on deciding someone else got it. I just realized that I have been to Meauxbar and that actually could be good since most of the people at the dinner will be New Yorkers and Meauxbar reminds me of NYC. I just think we'd be too disruptive/need a little more privacy.

Any other suggestions are welcome. To make it easier we for guests we are mostly looking for places in the Quarter and we still need a spot to have a couple hour open bar for 70 or so guests. Thanks again!

Suggestions needed for small rehearsal dinner in New Orleans

I’m getting married in New Orleans this November at Café Amelie. We need to schedule a rehearsal dinner for the night before for 12-15 people. Hoping to find a place with a private-ish room and great (but affordable) food.

The last time we visited town we ate at Cochon, August and Café Atchafalaya. Since it’s usually us younger folk we are more likely to go to places like Mother’s, Acme, etc. We are pretty open neighborhood-wise but everyone is staying in the Quarter so it would be great to do it there or over in the Marigny.

We also need to get a bar or a room for a few hours of open bar post-dinner so would love some suggestions for that as well (my ideal would be a place like DBA but I’m guessing I can’t afford to rent a live music venue on a Friday night).

Please let me hear what ya got.
Thanks!
