I think the idea of hitting Litro after the Gianicolo park is a great idea - my husband is a photographer and we have not been up there in the daytime before

Thanks vionoroma! Have you been to Romeo on via silla?
Is it worth a visit - I notice they are open on Sunday which is good.
I had Sorpasso on my list and I've read that it's better for lunch than dinner - would you go there for dinner?
I didn't include pizzarium because I just plan to go there once a day and wasn't needing feedback:)
Is settembrini good for dinner - I see on their website that they have a restaurant, a cafe -have you been to either?
Would love to hear you comments on any of these.

Looking forward to a food filled week in Rome!

Hello there,
My husband and I(40 -50 yrs old) will be spending a week in Rome at the beginning of November. We have always been in Rome at the beginning or the tail end of a trip to Italy and have not done much planning in advance for our meals in Rome in the past.
This time, as we have now seen most of the major sites, it is our intention to immerse ourselves in all of the different neighborhoods and
really just enjoy walking around the city. We will want to have some spontenaiety but will definitely want to have some great dinners while we are there and will be happy to book dinners in advance. We are staying at our favourite hotel - Villa Laeticia which is in the north part of the Prati neighborhood but still quite central. They serve an incredible spread for breakfast so we will likely not be ready to eat anything else until lunch time.
We are happy to take a taxi out for dinner so location is not such a big deal. We will also be celebrating my birthday while we are there so would love any reco's for the best restaurant to celebrate a special occassion.

Here is my list of considerations in no particular order - can you please provide some guidance - which are the best ones not to be missed? Are there others that are not on this list that I should be considering? I do realize that I have many more places here than we have nignts so it would be great if could give me your top picks.

Dinners?
Romeo (thinking could be great for first night due to proximity to the hotel)
L'Arcangelo
Sorpasso
Urbana 47
Cavour 313
Broccoletti
Da Enzo al 29
Cesare al Casaletto
Armondo al Pantheon
Piperno
L'Asino d'Oro
Il Convivo
Tratoria Monti
Checchino 1887
Flavio
Taverna dei Fori Imperiali
Al Moro
Il Convivo
Al Ceppo
Checchino 1887

Lunches?
La Renella
Pianostrada
I Suppli
Casa Bleve
Trapizzino
Cafe della Pace
Roscolli
Forno Campo Dei Fiori

Drinks
litro
Spirito di Vino
La Barrique
Farfiuche

Thanks in advance!

Puglia Restaurant Recommendations

Hi,
I will be travelling through Puglia for two weeks in October and am hoping to get some restaurant recos for good lunches and dinners.
We will be staying in a few different spots - Monopoli, Otranto area and Matera (which I realize isn't officially in Puglia). Looking for good authentic food in a nice setting.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Looking for a few group friendly restaurants in South Beach

Hi there,
I am heading from Toronto to Miami for a fwedding in a few weeks and looking for some help finding a few great restaurants that can accomodate a group of 10-12 people. I have found that quite a few Miami restaurants want to serve you a set menu and require a deposit in advance. I am hoping to find a few places where we can just order off of the regular menu and a deposit is not required. We are 40 somethings and we are staying at the Mondrian - we are open to any type of food. We are as happy to either a high end restaurant or a local dive providing the food and service is good. I was thinking that Joe's could be an option for one of the nights but would love to hear if you have any other great ideas.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Need a great spot to go with the parents this Friday

We ended up at Ici Bistro aftertall as we had been on the waiting list and a table became available. It was the perfect place to go with the parents and we all loved our meals.
I can't wait to check out Campagnola and Carisma looks great as well - thanks so much for your suggestions!

Need a great spot to go with the parents this Friday

Hello Chowhounders,
,Just found out that my parents would like to take me out for a B-day dinner this Friday night and am looking for some suggestions for a good place to go. To give you an idea of the kind of place, we were originally thinking Buca or Ici Bistro but both are booked up. Have been to Canoe, Splendido, Globe and Ruby Watchco for past dinners and am trying to think of somewhere interesting to go. We live in the Danforth/Leslieville area but anywhere in the downtown area will work. Parents are 75 and prefer somewhere that we can hear each other across the table. Any suggestions would be most appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
LH

Birthday weekend in Miami

Hi there,
I am heading to Miami with a group of friends to celebrate a few 40th Birthdays and want to get some recommendations for the best spots for dinner that have a fun atmosphere. There will be 8 of us and we are staying at the Mondrian Fri- Monbut happy to take a taxi anywhere in a 15-20 minute radius. In researching so far, it sounds like Sra. Martinez, Meat Market, Micheal's Genuine and Sugarcane raw bar & grill might be good options. It would be great to get some feedback on these places and recos for others if possible.
Thanks in advance

Quick lunch Yonge/St.Clair

There is a new Burger place called Retro Buger that opened last week on Yonge just South of St. Clair which is great if you need a burger fix. La Passione across the street also has good take out italian at the back counter - not as good as Boccone but it's not as far. Delica's Kitchen, also just south of St. Clair has good soups and salads.

In Seattle for 3 days - Can you help narrow down my list?

Thanks for the great recommendations Chowhounders.
Just wanted to post a little trip report on our food filled time in Seattle.
We had a few travel complications so our trip was cut short by a day but we still managed to fit a lot in. We arrived late on a Thursday night with little sleep and just wanted to have a bite before we passed out.
Went to The Brooklyn which wasn't on my original list but it was right around the corner from our hotel. So glad we did because I had the best crab cake there - topped with balsamic strawberries on a mango and wasabi cream sauce - YUM. Had some chowder and oysters that also hit the spot. The Baker's Dozen Oyster plate is a great way to get familiar with the various PNW oyster varieties.
Friday morning had breakfast at Cafe Campagne - best quiche I've ever tasted!
Friday lunch - Sulumi - so glad we went!!! Line-up wasn't bad (15mins) , we had no trouble getting a seat at the back and I had the best meatball sandwich!!!
Friday Early Evening - Elliots - we didn't make it for happy hour but sat at the bar and enjoyed 2 doz - glad we made a stop here.
Friday dinner - Cascina Spinasse - thanks for the reco DonJ, we loved the atmosphere and the food. The proscuitto and roasted strawberries were fantastic even though you wouldn't think they are a likely combination.
Saturday breakfast and lunch - ate at the market - all I can say is that I am dreaming about having the Pike Place Chowder clam chowder. It is truly the best chowder I've ever had.
Saturday Happy Hour - back to The Brooklyn for another crab cake
Saturday Dinner - Crush - what started out as a dissapointment - we had to wait for our table for 45 minutes ended up being the best thing that could have happened. They made such an effort to make it up to us that we ended up getting to sample most of the menu. Everything was fantastic and would return in a heartbeat.
Sunday brunch - Etta's - awesome! Wish there was somewhere in Toronto to get Eggs Benny with crab.
I can't wait to return to Seattle!!!

Thanks for your feedback everyone!
Just to confuse matters, does anyone know when Staple and Fancy is set to open? Union would have been on my list before it closed so I was just curious.

In Seattle for 3 days - Can you help narrow down my list?

Hello all,
Heading to Seattle for 3 days/3 nights at the end of the month and have been doing some research on where to eat but I was hoping that you could help me narrow down my list.
We are a 40ish couple from Toronto on vacation looking to have some great food in a great atmosphere. We like most types of food but given that most types of cuisine are quite well represented in Toronto, we are not on the hunt for anything in particular - although I love seafood and DH loves steak. We are staying in the Pike Place area but do not mind travelling around the city for a great place. As it is just the two of us, we are not all that fond of the communal table idea. We will be there Thurs - Sat
Here's my list so far but please feel free to add to it if I've missed somewhere:

Lunch/Brunch
Sulumi
Matt’s
Etta’s
Serious Pie
Café Campagne

Oysters/Happy Hour
Elliot’s

Dinner
Crush
Dalia Lounge
Palace Kitchen
Spring Hill
Restaurant Zoe
Anchovies & Olives

Thanks in advance for your feedback - it is most appreciated!!!
