You can put them in smoothies, but I like to make a pudding with them. I sort of made up my own recipe, getting insight from some blogs. I mix together a big can of pumpkin (the 15 oz can), 3-4 tablespoons of chia seeds, a carton of unsweetened almond milk, a dash of vanilla extract and cinnamon, and raw almonds. Mix it all together and let it set in the fridge for an hour, then seperate into small tupperwares. This makes a huge portion. |

Best Bean & Cheese Burrito in San Diego? Not a real recommendation, but I love any kind of burrito I get at Rudy's in Solana Beach or La Costa. I haven't tried the bean and cheese, but I'm sure it's pretty good. |

What you do eat when your sick? Like others have mentioned, toast - lightly buttered with a little bit of cinnamon and sugar. Ginger ale for stomach bugs, with saltine crackers. For the flu or a cold, spicy chicken soup with corn tortillas from my favorite taco shop. |

Birthday meal - what's your favorite? I like to go out! Always enjoy a cocktail before dinner, and red wine during. I usually order crab if it's on the menu. And for dessert...something with chocolate. |

I live in San Diego, where good Greek food just does not exist. So there's that. I've had good Greek in San Francisco, but Pylos was pretty magical for me. It was over a year ago, but we had the calamari, a salad with lentils and scallops, and pita with various spreads. So basically appetizers...but it was all so good. |

Pylos was the best Greek food I've ever had. |

Happy Halloween! What kind of candy did you/do you buy? This year, we bought a bag of Twix, a bag of Butterfingers, and Reese's PB cups. The only one that is dangerous for us are the Reese's! |

Best Seasonal/Holiday Trader Joe Items.. to hunt for in 2012 I love the Candy Cane Green Tea. I try to stock up for the rest of the year, but it's so delicious it only lasts week a couple of months. |

Do you have any food "rituals"? Fun thread! Here a few of mine... I pull my morning muffin apart into little bite-size pieces, then eat with hands. I must have kettle jalapeno chips if I'm eating a tuna sandwich, and chips must be inserted into the sandwich. If I'm eating a salad, I eat a majority of the greens first, saving all of the "toppings" for last. French fries - a side of ranch is mandatory. I never put ranch dressing on anything else but fries. I can only apples (or any other stone fruit) cut up. Biting into an apple makes me cringe! |

Ice Cream at Rite Aid [moved from Los Angeles board] Thifty's ice cream hit the spot this weekend. I went home to visit my mom and dad, it was very hot, and ice cream sounded great. We contemplated Sonic or McDonald's but one suggestion of Rite Aid was all it took. We all had double scoops - rainbow sherbet only for mom, Dad had pecan praline and butter pecan, and I settled on coconut pineapple and mint chip. Brought back so many great memories, and we rode around town savoring it. |

If you could eat any food/meal and it have no effect on your health, what would it be. Fried chicken, absolutely. I love it. A close second would be a big bowl of ice cream every night before bed. |

My husband calls it a "goulash" but it's basically tempeh cooked in a skillet with whatever vegetables we have in the kitchen...we serve it with sprouted corn tortillas and beans. My favorite variations are: - tempeh w/ green olives, mushrooms, garlic, siracha Always topped with avocado, sometimes cilantro. |
