Birthday Brunch Suggestions
we had a nice brunch at tavern in brentwood recently. also, sat right next to bruce willis.
Bachelorette party in September...SW Steakhouse in Wynn OR N9NE Steakhouse in The Palms??
i LOVE sw, but nine might be better for a bachelorette party. the atmosphere is hipper and younger.
Graduation dinner for six on the westside--suggestions?
i suggest wilshire or maybe jiraffe.
Wynn/Encore Dining?
definitely go to sw steakhouse at wynn. great steaks. try the wynn salad and the truffled creamed corn is a MUST!
Angelini Osteria
my husband and i just ate at angelini for the first time. we went for our anniversary and it is NOT a romantic atmosphere. the tables are right on top of each other if you are a two top. the meal was ok, but not what i was hoping for. did enjoy the lasagna verde. service was decent but started to lag as the room filled up. glad we tried but probably wont go back.
Where can I find an Australian style hamburger in O.C.?
no one should go to burger kitchen. it might have been the worst hamburger i've ever eaten!
Fun Place to Throw a Party?
my husband threw me a party at fu's palace on pico. great food, full bar and a lovely private patio. it's kitchsy and totally fun.

best place to view macy's parade?
so they have a new route this year and we are desperately trying to find a place for my 80 year mother in law to view it and have breakfast. we've already called all the hotels on the new route.
any suggestions welcomed.
scarlotta or harry cipriani
my friend who lives in the city suggested vice versa. looks like that's the winner.
scarlotta or harry cipriani
we have 7pm theater tickets and wondering which place would be a better choice before. i looked on open table and saw that scarlotta is in the theater district, so i assume it's closer. when i mapquested cipriani with the theater it says 1.6 miles or 8 minutes. my inlaws really loved it last time they were in nyc. we don't want to be rushed. what time should we make a reservation for?
thanks
The best treats to bring back home to moma and family.
i sent a dozen yonah schimmel kinishes for my brother's birthday and he was so happy he almost cried.
high tea at a hotel
that looks very cute but i think she will enjoy something a little more traditional. i'm thinking the pierre or the st. regis.
high tea at a hotel
which upscale hotel has the best afternoon tea. i want to take my mother in law. we are staying at the essex house and they offer one.
thanks
Thanksgiving Dinner...One if by Land vs Four Seasons Restaurant?
both blue hill and gramercy tavern are closed on tday.
thanksgiving dinner
thanks. i knew it was jean georges or robuchon. i think those places are a little too "foodie" for them if that makes sense.
thanksgiving dinner
my mother in law suggested the four seasons but i didn't know if they had a dining room or just a jg rest. doesn't have to be connected to a hotel. they just want something nice and festive. price is not any issue.
thanksgiving dinner
looking for an upscale hotel dining room for thanksgiving dinner. any suggestions would be helpful. thanks
downtown pre theater dinner
been to pdc many times. we are going to fogo de chao the night before so i want to avoid steakhouses.
downtown pre theater dinner
we've done,
morton's, water grill, roy's, blue velvet and a host of others.
anything new or old that i've overlooked close by the ahmanson?
was thinking of magnolia downtown, we had a nice meal at the hollywood location a few years ago.
Anniversary dinner, Lahaina-area, Maui
have not been to merriman's (wasn't opened yet) but i spent my birthday last year at pacific o and the food and ambience was equally grand. also, tried pineapple grill and although we liked the food, it wasn't very "special".
Best Santa Monica/West Side restaurant for special family dinner
wilshire restaurant in santa monica or via alloro in bh
Via Alloro?
ate at via alloro last night. 8:30 on a monday night = dead. the place was a virtual ghost town. but it did allows us to have the patio all to ourselves which was nice. it's a little weird because they charge $40 for a plate of pasta but they had espn on the large flat screen tvs scattered throughout the restaurant. so i think they take "casual" fine dining to a new level. $13 bellini was good but ridiuously overpriced. appstizer was the ricotta stuffed squash blossoms. that dish is always one of my favorites but even though everything tastes better fried it was a little bland. my entree was the linguine with crab. it was chock full of flavorful crab meat but the pasta was a bit too al dente. still very tasty. don't think i'd go back.
