PRIME KO?

They have sweet potato fries, why can't they have regular potato fries? More importantly, i don't think they had any potato side dish.

PRIME KO?

Went to PrimeKo last week for my anniversary and really enjoyed it. The food was very good, the service was excellent and it was less expensive than its sister restaurants (although the portions were smaller).

For the apps we had the chicken teriyaki skewers and wagyu sliders. The sliders were excellent, and the skewers were pretty good, but a bit on the sweet side. For the main, we had the 14 oz steak and the curry chicken. The steak tasted great and was cooked as I requested. (medium rare). The chicken was also well cooked and was very moist, but I'm not the biggest fan of curry. I also orderd a side of brown rice, which was fine, but was cooked in a sweet sauce. For dessert I had the molten chocolate cake. The cake was ok, but it came with mocha ice cream in almond cookies which tasted great. Two issues: they have only one chicken main course and they don't have any standard starch side dishes ie french fries or mashed potatoes. (when my wife asked for white rice, they waiter said they can give us a bowl of sushi rice)

Also, as I wrote earlier, the service was excellent. Each course arrived very quickly, but we were never rushed.

Beer/food recommendations

You're right- I don't consider restaurants that charge $15+ for a burger as low end. Unfortunately, that maybe as low end as we get here in NY if we want kosher w/drinks. I was hoping that places like KD, or even a deli or some Isreali place had beer licenses.

Beer/food recommendations

Any recommendations for low end kosher restaurants that serve beer? Or bars that serve kosher food. I'm looking primarily in midtown, but anywhere in Manhattan will do just fine.

thanks

Turquoise Seafood & Steakhouse

Anyone hear anything about this place?

recession specials?

Anyone hear of any manhattan restaurants offering specials/cutting prices?

Prime Grill really pricey

Just a few months ago it was 59 (up around 20% from the previous time I went the year before). It's really reaching the point that despite the high quality, it's not worth the money. Also, I personally don't see all the hoopla about the Delmonico. I strongly prefer the rib-eye.

Circa- downtown closing

My friend sent me the following e-mail:

Guys, it looks like the dungeon [broadway cafe] is about to realize a small victory in the competition of kosher eateries. I was in Circa and there were barely any sodas and the pizza area was closed. The mashgiach told me that the place is going under in about a week. Go figure! It looks like we’re back to the good old dungeon for some watery soup and a slice of pizza.

Kosher Restaurants in NYC

Park East Grill closed, as did Eden Wok on the upper west side. If you don't mind the rebbe gazing down at you, and prices that seem to rise as portion sizes drop, Kasbah has very good food, especially its meat. If you want good chinese, go to chosen in queens or the five towns, or shangchai in brooklyn (caveat emptor on shangchai's hashgacha). As for Mike's bistro- tiny portions (except for possibly the steak) and limited menu will leave you hungry, but the food is tasty and the decor and service are nice as well.

Domani

Is Domani on the UES still around? I haven't been there in ages and I can't find it listed on all my usual kosher restaurant websites (including the OK's website). And now that Park East Grill closed, if Domani's goes, it's a big loss for that area.
