How long can I store wine in my Wine Enthusiast Silent wine fridge? The NFinity Wine Cellars as well as the BYO units will maintain the humidity better than the Silent Refrigerators. Of course nothing will maintain the humidity as well as the Eurocaves. There actually is a new Eurocave Chamber unit that is reasonably priced making it a great entry level wine cellar. |

How long can I store wine in my Wine Enthusiast Silent wine fridge? What a great question! I am actually a Wine Storage Consultant at Wine Enthusiast and can certainly offer a little direction on this. The Silent Wine Refrigerators are meant to hold wine on a shorter term basis, around 2 or 3 years max. The reason is they control the temperature and can be set to 55 degrees, which is proper storage temperature for all wines, but they have a hard time maintaining proper humidity. Some people try to add a water source to the Silent Wine Refrigerators, like a wet sponge or towel, to bring humidity into the unit. If tightly monitored with a hygrometer, this can work but you need to keep a watchful eye on the humidity going too high and water building up at the bottom of the unit. True wine cellars, like the EuroCave units that you mentioned, have an airflow system and are able to maintain the proper relative humidity which is between 55%-75% making them suited for long term storage. If a EuroCave isn’t in your budget, we do offer other models that maintain humidity better than the Silent Line and are less expensive than the Eurocave units. I hope this helps answer your question regarding the Silent Wine Refrigerator and the storage of your wine collection. Good luck! |
