Looking for a casual dinner within walking distance of Irving Plaza for a pre-show (630ish) Sat nite dinner. Prefer small and not wildly trendy, under $200 for 2. Thanks-

Meeting friends for dinner Feb 2. Need something quiet enough for dinner conversation, reasonable (under $150pp with drinks) and casual (jeans acceptable). Not hung-up on cuisine but have been craving steak/seafood, with good beer list. Know this is kind of broad but thanks.

It is great stuff, however difficult to track down and somewhat pricey. I understand that the limited production contributes to the cost.

I highly recommend it, although it is nothing like Prime as it is laid-back, unpretentious and quiet. Food was excellent, small but very good wine list and great service.

Maker's or Knob Creek. Really like Sazerac, though I have not been able to find the 18 yr. Would like to try Old Potrero, but haven't been able to find it either.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

An American classic.

Have a freezer full of blackfish fillets from a fishing trip last weekend. In the past, I've smoked them, used them in chowder (cioppino), poached them in soy sauce and made them into fish cakes (tod nam pla). Looking for something new and different. Anyone have unique recipe suggestions?

Southampton and Dogfish. Both better on tap than bottle. My local distributor has both available in growlers.

Make sure you use the right pumpkin--not the jack-o-lantern type but the pie pumpkin.

Planning dinner for Saturday nite and this is one of the few highly rated Huntington spots I've never tried. Any recent reviews?

Back again last week--client's choice for dinner. Great place for a drink or two either outside or in as the location and decor are tremendous but head to another Huntington spot for a more relaibly consistent (and better bang for the buck) dining experience. Also avoid Thursday happy hour unless you really enjoy a cheesy over 40 divorced singles crowd.

Can anyone suggest a consistenly reliable market in Huntington? I'm picky as 95% of what I eat at home I catch myself, however, given my kids increasingly busy weekend schedule and limitation on time off, have not been able to get out as often as I like.

View and facility are impressive, however, when I drop this kind of cash, I expect to be wowed by the food and that hasn't happened in my two visits. Huntington offers far better alternatives.

How was the trip? I will be traveling to MDI next week with a similar group (a "try-anything" 10 year old and a "steak or pasta only" 7 year old) and could benefit from your experience...did you do the Frenchboro trip?

MDI is Mount Desert Island in Maine, where Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are located.

Renting a place on Long Pond Aug 18-25 with my wife and two girls (9 and 6). Have any quick recs for best MDI restaurants? Not too hung up on price, my kids will eat or try just about anything, prefer casual--shorts and golf shirt is the most dressed I'd like to get.
