Help wanted – Texan Longhorn Beef (preferably grass-fed)

Not just a hobby.

Without getting into a cow history lesson Longhorn cattle have been around a long time in Texas... yada, yada, yada.
Longhorn meat is actually lean and delicious.
Debbie Davis over at Bandera Grassland is one of the only suppliers of grass fed Longhorn beef(in our area), that I have found, that offer up the whole critter vs. only ground.

Not noted on the website – they also offer up feral hog when they become overly unruly and appropriately sized for the pit. (Get on the mailing list for this

As for where to purchase this cooked in a restaurant? That could be its own thread….oh, wait…

Buying Heavy Cream?

If you really want fresh cream try the website below. Do the foot work here and you will find a milk co-op that will provide you with a consistent supply of cream.
$8 is about the going rate.
I get mine out of Taylor. I get 2 gallons of UNPASTURIZED (and delicious) milk and a quart of cream every other week.

Good call slowcooked. I was racking my brain trying to remember the name of Los Pinos.
An emphatic X2!
