Glenside, again

You can also go to Joe's Meat Market on Jenkintown Rd in Glenside. We have gotten excellent meat there and their chopped pork salad is delicious. My daughter is intrigued by their barrel of pickles, too.

German bakeries in St. Louis

Meyer's Bakery was at the corner of Jefferson and Pestalozzi. It closed in the late 1980s.

Going to make steak tartare - who's your best, most trustworthy butcher? And can (s)he cook?

Joe's Market in Glenside, PA. Ralf the butcher can explain how to cook everything splendidly. Ralf is also a wonderful cook.

St. Louis (or New York?) Style Fried Rice

Park Chop Suey moved to 1321 Chouteau Ave Saint Louis,MO 63103. It is roughly 4 blocks from the Park Ave location. The last time I was in St. Louis, we had take out from Park Chop Suey and it was every bit as good as it was when I was a kid.

Thai Tanic in Montgomeryville

We ate at Thai Tanic last night. My family was the only customers in the restaurant other than a person who came in to pick up an order. We were not impressed. The food was bland and overcooked. The noodles were very overcooked. We ordered an appetizer, "Tofu Tod," which consisted of 5 little pieces of very greasy fried tofu. We did not feel the amount of tofu was worth the cost of the appetizer. I am disappointed....we wanted to have a new Thai restaurant to add to our list of places to eat.

Loving Saigon on Main in Lansdale

We also go there often. I wish their vegetarian options were more substantial, but the Blue Bell Vietnamese/Thai restaurant has no vegetarian options--they actually told me they could not make Bun without the shrimp!
