Blue cheese dressing recipe?

My late godmother used to make a brilliant blue cheese dressing using beer. I never got the recipe from her. =(

Does anyone have a recipe like this or ideas about what ingredients to use to recreate it (besides the blue cheese and the beer)? I have combed the internet and not found a single blue cheese dressing recipe calling for beer. My guess is that the beer was a lager, although she lived in Germany for a few years and was acquainted with pilsners. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Fabulous brunch spots?

I'm looking for the best brunch spots in Vancouver. I've heard mixed reviews on Cafe Medina. Can anyone recommend others? Will be visiting in March.

Thanks!

My first dinner hosting the in-laws. Please help, I want to impress!!

Evie, sounds like you've got it covered! Lucky In-Laws! My main rule for entertaining anywhere from 2 to 50 is MAKE AHEAD! I cannot abide being stuck in the kitchen when everyone is having fun! Easy finger food for aperatif, first course salad OR soup, your main course plus a veg and dessert. Have fun!

Eddie Ross' Minted Chocolate Buche de Noel recipe

Hi All,

Did anyone get the recipe for Eddie Ross' Minted Chocolate Buche de Noel - posted on Dec. 29, 2011? http://www.eddieross.com/ Apparently it was up for a while, but is not available now. Boo hoo! It's a gorgeious looking cake - chocolate sponge, mocha filling (it looks like to me) and a white frosting (white chocolate? white buttercream? cream cheese?). I'd kill for the recipe!

Thanks,
Donna

Stop Bashing Paula Deen

I am so sorry that Paula Deen developed Type 2 diabetes. I don't want to bash her. The point is she has a very visible pulpit and could use it to help rather than to continue down the path she's on. I feel she's being disingenuous to continue with her high fat, high sugar cooking when she could be educating people. She can still do a Southern Cooking Comfort Food show for Sunday dinners (one example) or holidays - whatever... Just not everyday. I grew up on southern cooking but we did not eat the excessive meals she concocts on a daily basis.

Is this an Alcohol Allergy?

You may have yeast growing in your stomach. My husband had a similar reaction for years before finding an allergist who figured it out. He had to give up alcohol. It can be aserious problem. Good luck figuring it out.
