Good pub food in Central London

Is this a possibility anymore? Fish and chips, ploughman's kunch, shepards pie....

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If there is a particular pub in the suburbs that is worth the tube ride, I would also be interested. Thanks so much.14 days till our trip and counting......

New Year's Eve Suggestions

Thanks for the reply. No particular budget in mind, as I know New Year's Eve can be pricey. As for location, just hoping to find a place in central London. Thank you for the replies so far.

New Year's Eve Suggestions

My wife and I will be leaving NYC and heading to London for New Year's Eve this year with our 2 sons (19 and 16). We all love to travel and to eat VERY well. Doesn't need to be fancy or stuffy, just a great local restaurant. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I wouldn't mind if it was festive given the holiday. Thanks to all and happy holidays.

3 nights in Bologna and one in Milan

Help! I am leaving on Friday for a car trip through northern Italy and France. I have all of my hotels and inns booked, and haven't dealt with our meals. Not a good place to be since we are all about food and not so much about sightseeing. I will be with my wife and 2 sons (14 and 18). we are from Manhattan, so 4 star restaurants aren't our goal. We love to eat lunch and dinner at authentic local places. we also love to search out markets and local flavors. We will have a car, so we can travel from the "bases" I noted in the title to this post. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
