Park Slope: Choices, choices.... OK gang, taking the wife and two friends out for dinner in the Slope at 8pm tonight. Keeping it informal, don't want anything too fancy. I'm thinking Blue Ribbon, Stone Park Cafe or Get Fresh. Any opinions on best option or recommendations for other venues? I've always wondered if Stone Park really offers a good dinner menu (I've heard lots of good things about their brunches). Forget Al di La - no reservations and it will be standing room only. Thanks! |

It was a lovely day, and my intrepid colleague and I ventured over to Sam's Falafel Cart in Liberty Plaza and got two delicious sandwiches to go. We then rambled over to the churchyard at Trinity and devoured them in reverential bliss. |

yeah, waaaaay better meatballs than Ikea! All good suggestions - Aqua sounds like a nice find. Has anyone spent anytime over on Front St just N of the Seaport? I had a nice sandwich at Barbarini Alimentari and the pasta looked pretty tempting. Seemed like a cute place. |

Can you use a sharpening steel too much? What about carbon steel? I have a couple of beautiful old carbon steel knives that I've recently had sharpened. They rock. What's the best way to keep up that edge? Steel or stone? |

Hi folks, having a business lunch with an old friend / colleague around Wall St in Lower Manhattan. Looking for someplace low key that's not a pub, Les Halles or sushi joint. Any hot tips? It's always felt like a bit of a foodie wasteland down here.... |
