Ubuntu?

We're scheduled to go on July 15 and I think we will keep the reservation! The feedback is overwhelmingly positive so I think ti's worth a try. I'm only hesitant because we have only one day in Napa and there are so many options. Thanks so much everyone for your feedback. Hugely grateful!

Ubuntu?

Thanks everyone! I guess I'm mostly curious if people like Ubuntu. Quick poll: If you've eaten at Ubuntu and you are not a vegetarian, would you pay to eat there again?

Ubuntu?

Hello, we will be visiting Napa in July and are thinking about Ubuntu for dinner. Neither of us are vegetarians but I'm curious. Is it worth the price? (What would a dinner for two cost approx?) Is the food hearty and filling? Or are the portions small and not satisfying?

I'd welcome any and all thoughts.

Thanks so much - this is a great community!

Restaurant itinerary for 4.5 day San Francisco/Napa Valley visit - look good?

Hi everyone, we're visiting from Toronto - so we are lucky to have many fabulous restos here.

I think I will probably change our dinner reservation maybe back to Bottega or something else, I will look around at previous Napa threads.

Thanks for your input! I really appreciate it!

Restaurant itinerary for 4.5 day San Francisco/Napa Valley visit - look good?

Hi everyone, maybe we should rethink our napa choices. We are going to Napa to do a couple of tours but also just to explore the towns. I originally was thinking of either Martini House or Bottega but a friend who's been to napa many times suggested Don Giovanni as "an old favourite." I'm certainly not tied to Taylor's Refresher - I thought it might just be nice to get something quick and casual if we're going to have a more proper sit down dinner.

Napa favourites instead of DG?

And if we lunch in the mission one day any mexican must-trys?

Huge thanks for your insights!!

Where to eat after Alcatraz night tour?

Hello fellow foodies,

My bf and I - two Torontonians - will be visiting San Francisco for a few short days in July. We are SO excited.

We love simple, honest food that is thoughtfully prepared and delicious. We like Italian flavours, comfort food and new takes on both of these. We dig local ingredients, bright veggies and high quality meat. Not the biggest fans of seafood. But we LOVE dessert.

It has been suggested to us that we try Frances (can't get a reservation) and A16.

We also have been advised to breakfast at Dottie's True Blue.

I'm wondering if you think these are good choices for us or if any others pop to mind, in light of our likes.

Also, we are thinking about doing the Alcatraz night tour on the Friday night and so want to eat somewhere nearby around 9;30. ideas? (we're staying in the union square area so could also head back there for a late meal).

I gratefully welcome any and all suggestions. We are so excited to explore the culinary scene!

Huge thanks!
