The Passenger -- Junction restaurant from the owners of The Beet

Agreed about the portion sizes... good food, just skimpy on the portions. Nice patio, going to steal quite a few people away from Axis I think.

Osteria Dei Ganzi

I would also like to know if anyone has had a meal at Ganzi and can share their opinion?

Fat Louie's BBQ (Keele & St. Clair)

Yes, I went on Sat. afternoon and I believe his kids were running the truck. Had the brisket sandwich and it was delicious. And apparently my request earlier in this thread was answered as they have a coleslaw on the menu now as well. Sadly the pulled chicken is gone.... it was good!

Fat Louie's BBQ (Keele & St. Clair)

Excellent news. I look forward to stopping by after my workouts like I did last summer. The pulled chicken and pork sandwiches are fantastic, any chance you could add in a coleslaw to the mix this year? Your sandwiches topped with a fresh slaw would be amazing

Gabbys is opening in the Junction!

You're completely right, I mixed up crossroads with the rummy bar on the South/East corner of Keele & Dundas. I tried google-mapping the location and name but the images were taken back last year when they were refacing the building, and the signage was pulled down at the time.

Kellz: you should try Locomotive's sandwich offerings, some really good ones in there (Piri Piri and Brisket come to mind). Also check out La Revolucion @ Dundas & Keele if you like Mexican, its regional and well done.

Gabbys is opening in the Junction!

Crossroads in the Junction along with Celts welcomes all the "dodgies" for us. Gabby's will rival Bar 3030 and their cooler-than-you attitudes for business (which is a good thing). It will also make Axis step their game up, maybe even work on their awful mains/entrees. Gabby's will be a good spot for us Junctioners to grab a pint, some cheap wings on Wednesdays, and watch some sports. Nothing more, nothing less. Looking forward to it

Fat Louie's BBQ (Keele & St. Clair)

I'm going on a limb and saying that for weekdays during the summer he'll be open lunch/early dinner hours. I know for sure he's open until at least 8pm on Fri & Sat, and open lunch/early dinner hours on the Sunday. Hope that helps.... wish he was open for some after-bar eats!

Fat Louie's BBQ (Keele & St. Clair)

I've eaten at Fat Louie's a couple times now, every time the 'Q has been solid. There is a trailer with a smoker out back, and he uses charcoal as the base and hickory as the flavour. So far I've tried both the pulled chicken and pulled pork sandwiches, and I have to disagree about the sauce comment above. The pork doesn't need to much sauce tbh, and comes topped with fresh chopped onions. The pulled chicken is great, straightforward smoked and then slathered in his BBQ sauce. For 5$ a sandwich, in a Rona parking lot, the BBQ is top notch.

The Dundas 40 leaves Dundas W. station and travels across to Runnymede. Both the 89 and 41 leave Keele station and run north up Keele. Any of these 3 buses can be taken to Keele & Dundas west, and Baan Thai is a short (1 block) walk from there.

Yellow Griffin....WTF happened?

^^Agreed about Montreal Mel's!

Also more and more places are opening up in the stretch of Bloor around Runnymede that actually focus on quality of the food over shtick, like putting 10 things that don't work together on a burger and calling it inventive

VENUE FOR SMALL WEDDING RECEPTION IN ONTARIO

I can name you a couple of other places that don't feel like you're getting married in a classroom? We found the venue to be completely opposite of what a "wedding venue" should be, but that was us and to each their own.

Best Banh Mi in TO

Theres no other Banh Mi spots around that part of Dupont. Best thing instead would be a chicken sandwich from the Portuguese place on the South side, or a shawarma from the newly opened falafel place closer to Symington. *le sigh*
