next time get the porkchop.. it was pretty yummy Sissy's burger was just eh..ribs were a bit dry... sense mastering the greenegg I am constantly disappointed in steak out.

I hold out hope for brunch... I love brunch

ya well.. I am not ever going to be nasty or mean to my mom.. she is awesome.. and even if i roll my eyes sometimes.. I would never ever treat her the way I see and hear other kids treat their moms...and I cant see some weird magicbirthday kicking in making me into some sort of monster

Is anyone indulging in Hatch Chiles?

1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoonish maybe more Cajun spice mix( mine is heavy on white pepper and paprika)
roasted hatch to taste
1cup chicken broth
1 can evaporated milk
4 cups (about) of assorted cheeseShreadded ( i use cheddar,jack ,fontina, american)
pack of elbow mac
leftover steak chopped into little bits( or cooked bacon or elgin sausage)

cook pasta set aside
chop hatch set aside

mix the seasoning into the flour

in the bottom of the pasta pot make a roux with the flour and butter... then add the broth and milk till steamy..throw in the cheese.. stir till thick and saucy add the the noodles back in in stir the steak pieces and hatch into the mix to heat.. serve up.

it isnt really "Asian" it is a fusion... kind of like what you get out of an Asian home late at night if you raided the cabinet at a slumber party.

my point of view...
food is control... it is the first thing that kids learn they have control over...they spit it out..they cry for it and mom brings it...etc...when You are a teen food can become a huge weapon...and sometimes morph into a real problem( but that is another topic)
1. Do not let her steal your joy
2. Do not worry about her starving
3. Do not let her use it as an excuse not to be at a family meal.

Meal times at my house as as much to do with being together as it does the food. My sister is juuuuust now starting to embrace a wide range a food and many meals were her sitting there eating a bowl of cereal she fixed herself while we ate axis lobe. The point is Do not make this a battle. The more this is a non issue with you the more you are creating a comfortable atmosphere for her to explore things at her own pace and time.

We hit a Top Ten spot

My mother is terrified of balloons because when she was in second grade a girl sucked one down her throat and was choking..none of the teachers could hear her and she was afraid to leave the girl... mom finally got the balloon to come up ..but she has a manic fear of choking and balloons.. she use to watch to make sure I cut everything small enough before putting in my mouth( notice she gave a four year old a knife but worried about choking)

I'm in the mood for chicken drumsticks...

Three Legged Chicken-
mom use to buy those packs of the cheap on sale drumsticks when we were little. For some reason The always had nine drumsticks in them and I somehow reasoned in my head they came from three legged chickens.

Honey
garlic
thyme
olive oil
lemon juice
mix it up in a ziploc baggie
dump the legs in squish it around to cover and let sit for an hour or so
cook at 375

He did the same roll over and pat tummy show with Ahran. I find it sad "let me win by not cooking. It is like on TOp Chef when the troll like Jamie the scallop queen spent three episodes hiding and doing prep work in group challenges.

EEEGADS Actually the smallllll amount people who have done this pales in comparison to the people who actually take the coffee pot.. ruin the sheets with their drunken bodily ozzeings .... having to replace the comforters from greasy pizza boxes and Chinese delivery.. steal the towels ...take the roomservice trays from outside other peoples rooms and pilfers the glassess and stuff... taking allllll the soap and shampoos everyday and demanding new ones when one set would work.. this is the stuff that drives hotel cost up.

ok..in all honesty I have never made an egg on an iron.. but.. I have made a grilled cheese using foil and and iron..and I have used a baggie to heat up mac and cheese when the room hasnt had a microwave ..both times I was being rather childish and just hadddd to have what I wanted and my dad went to the gas station and bought bread american cheese and butter and he borrowed foil from a pageant mom who was highlighting girls hair... The mac and cheese was left over from a restaurant.
someone once posted on another thread they grew up kosher and their mo use to cook illegally in the hotel room, stuffing towels under the doors hoping not to get caught
