Saveur magazine iPad app constantly crashes

I received a response to my complaint from the app company - they are aware of the issue and recommend that users do not download more than 2 or 3 issues at the same time.
I appreciate the quick response from them and the workaround, but I still consider this terrible app design and performance.
I guess this also helps explain why they don't support bookmarking of recipes like other cooking magazine apps do...

Saveur on iPad?

Like a magazine. And I switched to the ipad app but still have access to my old Zinio issues (thank god).

Your favorite e-cookbooks (kindle or ipad)

I have lots of ecookbooks like Jerusalem by Yotam Ottolenghi and Lidia Bastianich's books on my Kindle and the Kindle app for iPad. But the book has to be well indexed - the best have each recipe as a link in the table of contents or index so you can jump quickly. I also bought one Kindle cookbook by Rose Levy Beranbaum that was so sloppily formatted that it was unusable (the line breaks were all wrong so the quantities were impossible to read), but that was a few years ago and the formatting in most books is great.
One big advantage to having cookbooks on the Kindle touch: you can search for an ingredient from the home page and it shows all the results in all your books!
I also like that I have all the Kindle books on my phone too which makes shopping for ingredients on the fly much simpler.
Finally, if you are not a master of english to metric conversions, look for cookbooks that give quantities in both - it makes shopping in Europe as an American expat much more efficient. Examples are Ruhlman's Twenty or Roots by Diane Morgan.
and I'm embarrassed to say I have too many to have a top 5 though Food52 and anything by Nigel Slater or Mark Bittmann are bound to be flexible and delicious.

Saveur magazine iPad app constantly crashes

Anyone else having endless problems with the Saveur iPad app? I've had to completely reinstall 4 times so far. I use it for a few days then it just starts crashing at the splash screen each time I launch it. I have an up to date OS, I updated the app and even restarted the iPad but nothing helps. I love the magazine, but if I can't read the issues I subscribed to, it's a complete waste of money. Any tricks to make it work?
If not, I'll switch back to Zinio to read this one.
I have BBC Good Food on the iPad and love it, so I know digital cooking magazines can work...

Saveur on iPad?

I've used both the Zinio app for Saveur and the native iPad Saveur app and much prefer Zinio. The Saveur app crashes constantly (I've had to reinstall it 4 times so far) and I know other users have had similar problems for months and the performance has not improved. Zinio is reliable and I love the ability to switch to plain text as well. If you install the Zinio reader on your desktop, you can also print just the pages you need.

CIA Professional Chef iPad App Anyone?

I bought it and love it - lavishly illustrated, extremely well indexed and sometimes there is nothing like having a technique shown via video. I don't use it constantly but for mastering basic and advanced techniques, it's a fantastic reference.

Fennel, Avocado, and Mint Salad

This was a big hit for a dinner party I gave. If you can get the pistachio oil, it's wonderfully nutty and a beautiful color. The layers of flavor in this salad are fantastic!!
