Heirloom tomatoes

The farmers market in High School Park in Elkins Park had a tomato vendor last week with a huge assortment of heirloom tomatoes. Would imagine he will be there again this week.
There is also an amazing peach/apricot/ blueberry stand. This week promises nectarines and plums as well.

Simon Fischers Prune Lekvar is available in many supermarkets in the area all year round. I recently bought some in the Acme in Jenkintown and have found it in Genuardi's as well. It's the same brand my mom has been using for years in New York. Hamentashen recipe on the back label.

Best Korean in the 'burbs? (i/s/o some really good bibimbap)

The food court in the shopping mall of the Elkins Park H Mart is quite large and the Korean food windows serve a huge variety of traditional dishes. Very reasonably priced. No BBQ but the bimimbap can be hot or cold. Hot comes in a earthenware bowl with the rice on the bottom getting crispy and delicious. Shopping center at the corner of 611 and Cheltenham Ave. Called MORE shopping center. Also a great Korean prepared food take out place in the same shopping center and a wonderful french bakery.

Rehoboth Beach- favorite dining spots

I know this may be out of your area, but it seems like a lot of DC folks vacation in Rehoboth. If I should use a different board, please let me know. Looking for favorite places to eat, at the nicer end, or even mid-level places you love, in Rehoboth. Love Back Porch Cafe (esp for the reasonable wine list) and seems there has been alot of turnover/new places in the past few years. Usually cook at home due to kids with significant food allergies, but will be here without kids in mid-sept for a long weekend. Thanks.
