get someone to pay me to eat and report on my gastro adventures. So Anthony Bourdaine's job minus the cameras... and maybe half the booze.
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
Guac. I've gone pro with the avocado.
My favorite comfort food:
My mom's homemade chili or tomatillo soup. Or sushi. Or chocolate. Or banana pudding. Or...
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
Man, these are hard. I love sushi, though I'm struggling for a fave Dallas locale. SaWaDiKa's Thai Basil Fried Rice with tofu is killer. The fish tacos at Chuy's are tops. The Libertine rules at both brunch and beer. Mom 'n pop Mumtaz in Richardson won me over with their Indian buffet, featuring rotating selections, four kinds of curry and yummy rice pudding. Piggy Pies on Greenville does pizza worth walking down the street to pick up (Go for the Poblano Pepper Pizza, incredible green sauce.) Oh, and Empa Mundo in Irving is new in town and serves up authentic, affordable Argentine empanadas.
My most tattered cookbooks:
My binder filled with clippings torn from Real Simple, Everday Food Magazine, Women's Health, whole living, etc. (I'm still breaking in my cookbooks.)
