Jetsun's Juicy Burger

I had this place once. It's not bad. Put it this way, I'd rather see a bunch more of these around the city than Wendy's or McDonalds, Burger King...ect

Burgers in Toronto

tried this place for the first time today. Most over rated, over priced, greasy garbage I've ever had. Can even believe there name would come up in a good burger thread.

King Street Belly Busters Opens Thursday!

Belly busters at Yonge and Yorkmills is amazing. I find their subs to be waaaay better than mr.sub and subway. I've never tried the king street location so I'm not sure if it stacks up. They are opening another one right down the street from on Highway 7 and Centre. God I hope it's as good as the original.

Best Italian Sandwich

many people already mentioned, but I find California Sandwiches to amazing if you go to the right location. I thought it was all in my head that they taste totally different depending on location they quality totally chances but judging by this thread I'm not going crazy.

I loooove the sandwiches at the sheppard and allan rd. location. I live in woodbridge and won't even go to the one at Weston rd and 7. First time I saw that there was a location there I got so excited, then had a bite of my sandwich and it was totally different.

Cammisso's at Jane and Finch is pretty good too. (open 24/7 which is great)

Vincentina's is good too, but a different type of sandwich. There's no sauce on there's.

Authentic southern BBQ spots in TO?

There still is no good BBQ places in Toronto. I've tried all these places and disappointed everytime. phil's, buster rhino's, paul and sandy's, Memphis ect. None of these places are good. The ribfest used to be great but they seem to have gone downhill.

There is a food truck that's open in the summer that I'm hearing good things about called phat louies. There is a thread somewhere on chowhound for it.

Where do you take a carnivore that isn't boring?

I'm not sure if your still looking, or what you consider "boring", but I would be Coppacabanna at the top of my list. If you go on friday or saturday they have brazilian dancers but the price is a little extra.

I know you said "steakhouses need not apply" but this isn't really a "steakhouse" per say.

Chipotle, Beef, and Bean Chili

@ divefan

I totally agree about the beans. One can of beans is enough.

Having that said, I usually use one can of crushed tomatoes and one can of diced and it comes out fine. I also put a beer in mine.

Never really paid too much attention to your reply since I had my attention totally on trying to find good pre-made frozen burger patties. I never even heard of holy chuck. Just checked out the website and damn it looks good!!! lol

Roti like the Real Jerk made it

Ii go there all the time. Never had any attitude at me when I was there. In fact, quite the opposite.

Funny though cause I actually like the roti at the real jerk better but it's it's too far for me. Roti hut is also far but I'm in scarborough a lot and even if I do feel like taking a drive, it's scarborough so there's not much in the way of congestion. Reak jerk being downtown is too much of a pain.

The General Tso in the Toronto

With this reponse, I sort of answer the question to thread as well as yours direclty.

I only go to one place for chinese food and always get the same thing. It's more in old china town on dundas. It's "hung shing"

http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=h...

(they actually have a website but it doesn't seem to work anymore. In a panic I just called them to make sure they didn't go belly up...lol

)

I always get both general tso and sweat and sour pork and mow on it over two or 3 days. I love their stuff.

I might have to give shecwan shecwan a whirl with all the talk about and I live so close.

That's how die hard I am about hong shing, I live in vaughan and drive all the way downtown to get it. I usually go on a sunday night late or something when there's no traffic.

Kelseys...what to order?

I agree that it's pretty awful there. The only thing I'd order is the nachos.

Ready made (fresh or frozen) burgers?

Actually, I like them kind of plain flavoured with bit of grease taste to them...lol.

That's why I like the patty at burger shack as opposed to the homeburger. Has a bit more grease flavour

ya but I feel kind of weird calling them up over the phone spefically to ask that. A little awkward if your in there grabbing a burger and sort of casually throw it in there.

Burgers in Toronto

I'm going revive this thread for a specific reason Ill mention at the end...lol.

Anyway, funny how we all have our own preferences. I ate a golden star once and thought it was terrible.

Burger shack is my favorite, and the funny part about that is I like the frozen patties over the homeburger which is what every will tell you not to do. I like the grease taste from the forzen patty. I also really like Johnny Burger. I find it taste kind of similar to Burger Shack but not quite as good.

Anyway, I kind live a bit far from these places now as I live in Vaughan, and was hoping if any you guys go to burger shack regularly, you could ask them where they get their forzen patties and report back...lol. I want to buy a box so I can BBQ them at home. I know I'm asking a lot, but I thought it one of you guys go there regularly you might do me this favour...lol

Ready made (fresh or frozen) burgers?

Funny, I was just about to start a thread on this very subject myself.

I know it seems kind of strange, but in sometimes I like frozen ones better. My favorite place in the city to get a hamburger is a place called "the burge shack" which is at Avnue rd. and eglington. It's funny cause many ask for the 8oz homburger which is the burger they make themselfs.

I looove there regular burger which is a frozen patty. I've tried so many different ones trying to get the same type they have but can't seem to do it. Non of the ones in grocery stores even come close. I tried the keg ones as well and didn't thnk they were that great.

A friend of mine from work gave me an italian butcher's place up in Vaughan (which is where I live anyway) called Toterra Meats. I bought a box of 40 for 30 bucks. They were the best I had but still not like the burger shack...lol.
I want to ask where they get their patties from but I have a feeling it's some place that doesn't sell to the general public.
The other problem I'm having is finding good buns...lol.

There's seems to be only two type in every gocery store I go to. One is dempsters which arn't bad cause they're non-sesame seed, but they seem to be so small, and the other I can't remember the name, (I think sensations or something)and they are decent size but sesame which I'm not a fan off.

That's it...

Its the same two in every grocery store I got to, be it Lawblaws, sobeys, metro, ect.

Help me....lol

Blue Jays Fans! Whaddaya eat when you're at Rogers Centre?

I started a whole thread on how the Pizza at the Rogers Centre as well as ACC is some of the best pizza I've ever had despite the fact it's pizza pizza which I usually can't stand. I thought it was all in my head until a ton of people I know all agreed with me. Turns out that the pizza at rogers centre and ACC as well as some other places is actually made by a company called Aramark. I guess pizza pizza just pay to have their name and stuff on it for advertising.

Aramark if your out there reading, please open up your own pizza chain.

anyone else feel this way about pizza pizza from Rogers Centre and ACC V.S their stores?

Ahhh...that's the company. It was funny because a group of us at work were talking about pizza and I told them my theory about this pizza pizza situation expecting them to look at me like I was crazy. They all agreed and then one guy said " it's because it's a different company making it". Then we were all like "ohhhhh...that's why".

Thumbs up to Aramark and hopefully the other pizza pizza joints will takes notice.

Found out that it's cause it's not Pizza Pizza. It's the pizza pizza name but it's a different company making the pizza.

Fat Louie's BBQ (Keele & St. Clair)

You sold me on the ribs. I was really curious to know if they compared to ribfest ribs cause I love the ribs there. I'm going to give them a try. I was going to head out to the ribfest at pickering next week but maybe I no longer need to make those far drives to get my hands on good ribs in this city.
