We are going to the Texas vs. UCLA football game at the Rose Bowl on Saturday at 12:30 PM with high hopes, but realistic expectations about the outcome! We live on the westside and don't want to fight the post-game traffic jam. We will be parking at Parsons in Pasadena. Any Chowhound recommendations for post-game eateries where we can either celebrate or drown our sorrows in good grub. Thank you, in advance, San Gabriel Valley Hounds. |

Any good Italian or French Restaurants in LA area? Campagnola on Westwood Blvd, south of Wilshire is a wonderful, non-pretentious neighborhood restauant. The home made lasagna is the best in town at an affordable price. Owner Carlo and his friendly stff will make certain you have an enjoyable and affordable Italian meal. |

Sushi-imbecile desperately seeking help I highly recommend Kiyokawa located at 265 S. Robertson Blvd., Beverly Hills. www.kiyokawa-restaurant.com. Sushi Chef/Owner Satoshi can easily design an Omakasi to meet your budget and can provide a myriad of exciting dishes to meet your non-Sushi requirements. For a fun evening that will make your loved one very happy and not break the bank Kiyokawa is the place. |

Good Sushi on Westside tonight? The R-E-A-L Hidden Gem is Kiyokawa at 265 S. Robertson Blvd in Beverly Hills. Chef/Owner Satoshi Kiyokawa has been in the United States for twelve years. This little gem has been open for four years. Originally from Kobe, Japan, Satoshi makes you feel very welcome. We spent an enjoyable evening watching this Master at work and talking with him about the fish as he worked his magic. The gobo is not from a package. He marinates it himself! The wasabi is freshly grated in front of you! The tamago is freshly made when you order it! He features natural and organic items. Wonderful experience! Kiyokawa is a MUST TRY! |

The Wiener Factory, today and tomorrow Ever have a bittersweet CCO (chili, cheese and onions)? I just poished off two of my 40-year favorites! I was one of the last customers to wish Kevin and Sher all the best! The last dog was dressed shortly after 5:00 PM. Sher was non-committal about a new location. Kevin was standing over the steaming dogs, as usual, piling the chili, the mound of shredded cheese and sweet white onions. . The line was into the parking lot. People had cameras to record the sad end to 2007. People were writing farewell notes on the outside walls. I told Kevin and Sher what a Chowhounder suggested that we all toss hot dogs at the windows of the new Stinkberry when it opens. They both had pained laughs. Goodbye to another piece of the LA that we natives grew up with. Please come back somewhere in 2008. Sabretts forever! |
