Any suggestions for good dumplings

Hi everyone, I are looking for good tasty dumplings in Toronto. We have tried northern dumpling Kitchen on highway 7 which was good the first couple times but now we found that the quality has dropped. We were happy with Chinese dumpling Kitchen but this last time, the dumplings were very small and the wrappings taste different. We have also try dumpling king downtown and dumpling house. I have to preempt this by saying that I have made my own wraps and own dumplings at home so maybe my bar is set too high. However, it will be great if people can suggest their favourite dumpling place.

Thanks

Yonge and Lawrence Yonge and Eglinton

Coquine at Yonge and Eglinton is great for French food and Churrasco Villa at Mount Pleasant and Eglinton has great portugese chicken!

Normandy advice

Thanks so much Crumbs for your wonderful suggestion. We were at Pieds Dans L'eau and had a wonderful meal of foie gras appetizer and cote de boeuf between my husband and I. It was fabulous and the owners were very nice. You were absolutely right, the place was quite hard to find. We drove around 3 times and then decide to ask the teenagers who were watching us in amusement :). Great recommendation!!

Normandy advice

Thanks so much for all the information Parigi and Crumbs! you have been very helpful. We are going to try and swing by Pieds Dans L'eau as it is on the way and also open during the time we are driving by. I wish we have more time to try out the ferme-auberge because they sound like it would be a great farm-to-table experience. I will let you know how our trip went!

Normandy advice

We are flexible in the route that we can take from Mont st. Michel to Paris. We are willing to go the Bayeux way or if there is a fastest way to go, we are willing to go that route. More importantly, if there is a way that has good food, we are happy to stop :)

Normandy advice

We are travelling to Normandy for 5 days and would like some foodie advice. Our Itinerary includes one night each at Rouen, Caen, Bayeux and St. Malo. We have been reading everyone's great advice on Bayeux and surrounding area. However we are struggling to find a good dinner place to try between our drive from Mont St Micheal to Paris. Any good recommendations? Thanks!

Create your own Ice Cream Sandwich in GTA

I think the place to go to is Bang Bang in Ossington, although I have yet to try it myself

Casa Victoria - A Michelin Star Calibre, Cantonese 'Surf & Turf' Chowmeet

Charles, thanks for organinzing the dinner. It was fantastic and we really enjoyed ourselves. I really liked the salty egg prawns, but it is really hard to pick a favourite! It was so much fun to meet up with like-minded people!

Good food in Scarborough

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to go to Scarborough for dinner with some of my friends and I am looking for some Scarborough gems. We like spicy food but prefer to dine in. It seems like most of Scarborough restaurants mentioned online is best for takeout. Any thoughts?

Thanks

roast suckling pig for wedding

Thanks everyone for their reply. We ended up getting 6 suckling pigs from Peaktop and they were fabulous. We had 150 people at the end and we ended up having one whole pig to bring home. Peaktop was very professional in terms of packaging the pigs for the wedding. They have no delivery so one of my friend picked them up. however it fitted very well for the buffet and we were happy that we went with Peak top

roast suckling pig for wedding

Thanks so much for the suggestions, I have called Peaktop and they seem to be able to accommodate apart from the delivery process. Hopefully people don't eat too too much! I'm not too sure how many to buy and the Peaktop owner didn't want to commit. She said that some families of 4 would even devour 1/2 of a pig themselves!

roast suckling pig for wedding

Hi everyone,

we are having our wedding in Sheraton Parkway in Richmond Hill and they are allowing us to bring in a roast suckling pig separate from the buffet. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions to where we can order a suckling pig to bring in and also how much pig we would need for a 160 people wedding as an appetizer?

Thanks for your help

Thanks so much for your replies, lemon is not open on Sunday lunch unfortunately and neither is Terra. I am going to suggest Blacksmith's bistro and see if my friends wants to try that

Australian candy

Hi

I just recently returned from Down Under and I am missing the candy, chocolate and biscuits from Australia and New Zealand. Is there anywhere in Toronto that sells Whittakers Chocolate, The Natural confectionary lollies, cherry ripes and jaffers?
