RAMEN in Old City! Monday night only. Who is going to Khyber's Japanese night?

I know they did run out of food and the waits were a bit long, but its hard to accommodate such crazy crowds. I have never seen a buzz like that before, especially on twitter. The pork in the ramen was amazing. The chicken karage, boy choy, and both buns were really well done. It would be nice to see this menu in a real restaurant soon so we can all enjoy it without the wait!

Have you guys checked out the menu for Monday nights Ramen/ Japanese Izakaya "pop up" dinner? The menu looks awesome. We need something like this in Philly, I have been craving hakata ramen. And kara-age fried chicken is always awesome.

Which Philly Chinatown Spot?

There really are NO stellar Chinese buffet options in CC. If you are at the Franklin Inst you might not want to go all the way to Han Dynasty, but if you do- that is a clean and friendly environment. The food is authentic and spicy, so look out.

In Chinatown, I 2nd the Sakura recommendation bc it is also user friendly and clean.

dinner in Manyunk?

I prefer Mango Moo, it has less traditional Thai. But if its noodles you want, then stick to Chaaba.

Favorite Chinese places in Chinatown? Not bakeries, not dim-sum, not Thai/Burmese/Fusion

I would say Four Rivers rates high- great pork, veggie, seafood, appetizers, really everything.

Village Whiskey - ever been?

Do yourself a favor and try Village Whiskey's new Saturday happy hour. From 2pm-4 sliders and pickles are on special, along with drafts beers, and one specialty cocktail. The sliders are insanely good and only $3. The burger slider is a mini version of their famous burger- one of the best in Philly. They have outdoor seating to avoid the wait.

Chinese banquet places?

I second Ocean Harbor, not the most beautiful setting but they do multi course menus and they have karaoke.

The best authentic pizza in the Philly area

my favorite non-fancy, most reminiscent of the NY pizza I grew up on is found at NYPD Pizza, on 11th.

What about Cafe de Laos? The similarities of Laotion and Cambodian food might do the trick.

Weekday South Philly Lunch?

A 12 yr old would probably enjoy a Paesanos sandwich or tacos at Veracruzano.

Need lunch and dinner recc's not far from Westin in Philly

You are in luck with your location, right in the middle of everything.

-You are right by Argan, a funky, down the stairs Moroccan sandwich place with a great lamb sandwich
- I agree with bluehen that Trading Co serves as a great classy but casual lunch spot, with the added benefits of outdoor seating and the Garces name to comply with your desire to keep it representative of Philly
- On a weekday, there can be no more of a classic Philly lunch than a DiNics sandwich in Reading Terminal

enjoy!
