Planning Itinerary for Hong Kong

Hi there...There is loads to try in Hong Kong, so I don't really know where to start! Being a local Hong Konger, I eat anything from Indian to Italian, Japanese to Mexican....I haven't really thought about what is really "Hong Kong food"....so the best thing to do is what I do....see what other people are eating. Go to this site: http://www.openrice.com/english/resta... it's in English, and it has everyone's comments (good and bad) on all there is to offer in Hong Kong food, be it a street side stall or Michelin star restaurant. It also catagorises the foods by district and type. Happy eating!

Best Burger in Hong Kong?

I'm a burger fan, and quite frankly the Triple O's in Hong Kong aren't really making the mark for me, and Fatburger was disappointing. I would rather go to Burger King than those 2. Anyway, my favorite burger place so far is WOW Burger. I live in Wanchai, so the place closest to me is Shop 12, G/F, 51 Pao Woo Mansion, Cross Lane, Wan Chai, Though I know there are branches in Tsim Sha Tsui, Tseun Wan and Shau Kei Wan.

There is a place in Soho (along the midlevels escalator) called Gourmet Burger, that I have yet to try. The menu is more expensive, but looks quite appetizing.

If you are looking for good Indonesian food, try Padang Indonesia Retaurant Shop 1&2, JP Plaza, 22-36 Paterson St Causway Bay, but I must warn you to stick to the Indonesian menu, and avoid the 'so-called' thai / southasian menu. You can also try Bali Restaurant 10 Nanking Street, Jordan, which is more down to earth. Both restaurants are good for casual family meals.

If you are looking for a quick bowl of Laksa or Mee Siam go to Katong Laksa Prawn Mee Shop D1, G/F, 155 Jaffe Road, Wan Chai. They also have a branch at G/F, No. 8 Ma Sha Street, Sheung Wan (Warning....do not try the shop called Malaymama which is opposite the Sheung Wan branch. The food isn't very good). The Sheung Wan Branch is the original store and in my opinion is better. My dad is Signaporean, and I travel to S'pore quite often and can say that it is difficult to find such a good laksa or mee siam even in S'pore.

And for Prawn Mee go to the Prawn Noodle Shop: Shop 4, G/F, Rialto Building, No. 2 LanDale St, , Wan Chai. The Prawn Noodle Shop is not open on Sundays and is really crowded the rest of the week.

I myself love a good mee goreng and mee rebus, but have yet to find a place serving these in Hong Kong. Anyone know of a good place for these?
