Outdoor Venue Help! :)

Hi all,

I'm looking for ANY suggestions here -- I'm running out of ideas. The SO's 30th bday is coming up in August and I'd like to throw a memorable party! He really enjoys spending the day at the beach, playing frisbee, and grilling. I'd love to find a beach the has a park nearby for grilling, or a pavilion that I could rent (i.e. Salisbury State beach has one, but it's booked. sad face.) I'm open to going anywhere 90 minutes of Boston.

Another option would be to find a great bar/tavern style place to go to after the beach, but even that's hard to find. I'd even be fine with renting a pool that has a grassy area nearby, but I can't find any places for that as well.

Anyway, I'm open to any all ALL ideas. I'd like to keep it on the more casual side, with a budget of around $500 for the whole shebang.

Help me imitate a fantastic dish from Tasca in Brighton

A month or so ago the BF and I had a fantastic dish at Tasca, a great little tapas place in Brighton. They're no longer serving this dish, but I wrote down the description:

"gnocchi tossed with portabella mushrooms, shallots and black mission figs in a truffle and cracked pepper cream sauce"

II know how to make gnocchi from scratch, but I need some ideas with the sauce. I'm pretty sure the sauce had sherry in it ... if you had to make this sauce from the description how would you prepare it?

My guess:
Saute garlic, shallots; add mushrooms. Deglaze with sherry. Add chicken or beef stock? Stir in heavy cream? Season w/ pepper ...?

Any ideas would be really appreciated!

Cold side dish that uses fresh rosemary?

My potted rosemary plant is overflowing! I'm having a BBQ party in two weeks and I'd love to include a recipe using fresh rosemary. I've found all sorts of recipes for roasted potatoes, lamb kebabs, roast chicken ... but I was hoping to do a cold, side dish -maybe some sort of potato or pasta salad? I just don't know!

Any fun ideas?
