Copenhagen for one lunch and dinner, traveling alone - Recs?

I'm going to be in Copenhagen for one lunch and dinner, traveling alone and am considering staying near the central train station (Koebenhavn H) or near the ├śrestad st (Metro). Looking for some restaurant suggestions, either take out or casual sit down, suitable for 1 person.

Was considering Dyrehaven and Kodbyens Deli / MadGlad based on the NYTimes Frugal Traveler blog, but I'm completely new to Scandinavian cuisine and Copenhagen but am willing to try! Thanks a lot.

Good restaurants in Kobe and Osaka for parents traveling with infant?

chowmouse, thanks so much for the detailed reply! I really appreciate it.

I think that Kinosaki Onsen may be too far for us but would love to check out Arima Onsen, even though it may be hit-or-miss. Do you have a favorite ryokan to stay and eat in Arima?

Good restaurants in Kobe and Osaka for parents traveling with infant?

My wife and I are on the lookout to sample some good food in Kobe and Osaka this winter, while traveling with our 1 year old daughter. She's generally well-behaved and can tolerate a high chair for 1.5 hours, pretty much eating anything we give her off our plates. However, I'm pretty sure she wouldn't be welcomed at some of the high end Japanese restaurants.

Looking for any recommendations for good restaurants in Kobe and Osaka that would appropriate to bring her to. I've read through the helpful threads here but its hard to know how formal these restaurants are (e.g., Maimon, Kuruma, Sushi Toyo, etc.).

We're interested in finding good Kobe beef place (teppanyaki perhaps?), sushi, ramen, and izakaya. Thanks a lot!

Curious why ramen is so rare and yet sushi joints are on every corner?

Curious why ramen is so rare and yet sushi joints are on every corner?

Pure speculation on my part. Perhaps its due to the profit margin? It seems easier to charge a lot of money for sushi and sake rather than a bowl of noodles. Along those lines, I long for the specialist beef noodle shops of Taiwan but I doubt that will ever make it here...

YumeWoKatare Ramen - anyone been yet?

For those who have been so far, what have the line dynamics been like? If one arrives just before 6 is it still a ~2 hour wait?

Tsukiji Market and Sushi Restaurant with Infant?

Thanks for the helpful reply! Do you have a recommendation for some good sushi / ramen restaurants that would be ok with infants but also be good?

Tsukiji Market and Sushi Restaurant with Infant?

I'm visiting Tokyo on a one-day trip on a Thursday with my wife and infant. We love fresh sushi and would like to go to Tsukiji early in the morning. However, we have a 7 month infant with us. Are there any recommended sushi restaurants that would be accommodating for an infant, or perhaps places we can get some good sushi rice bowls to go?

I'd really like to see the tuna auction too, but it sounds like it'd be too crazy to try it with a baby strapped to my front.

Thanks!

Formosa Taipei

Has the owner / chef of Formosa Taipei changed? i went there a year ago and it was serving great and authentic tasting Taiwanese food. Went there again last week and the liang mian (cold noodles) and other dishes had changed significantly and for the worse. Instead of the Taiwanese lady at the front counter, there were two people servicing the front that were clearly not from Taiwan and a bunch of new Shanghainese specials on the menu.

What store sells the best selection of sake in the Boston area?

What do people recommend in terms of liquor stores with the best selection of sake in the Boston area? I'm looking for some nice Hakkaisan Daiginjo, but other Daiginjos would be nice too (since i'm not sure the Hakkaisan Daiginjo is actually sold in the US). Thanks!

I have found my long lost Empanada - And the Waltham Mangos are IN!

Are these amazing mangos at Patel Brothers? Or at the Via Latina place you describe? I've been craving mangos ever since returning from Asia, where they are oh so plentiful and tasty.

What time does Uni's ramen bar close?

From reports, I know that Uni's ramen starts after 11 pm but when does it close? Thanks for the insights...

Best Shabu Shabu?

I would recommend Swish Shabu. It's located in Restaurant Row in the Fenway area and has awesome broths, a wide selection of meats, and a pretty tasty set of sushi and cooked appetizer options. Personally, I'm addicted to its Tonkotsu broth and Szechuan Mala (spicy and nubing) broth with the fatty beef and Meyer's organic rib eye. It just opened a week ago so the decor and facilities are brand new. An added plus is the good ventilation system in the joint, which helps reduce the smell sticking to your clothes afterwards. I've been to all of the hot pot places in the Boston area, but think this place stands out among them all. Shabu Zen was great when it first opened but it hasn't kept up with the others in terms of the quality/price ratio as well as taste. I always leave there feeling like I've just been given an MSG bomb.
