Another poke question for Kona

Great advise, Jean. Our plane lands on Friday at around 11:30...then off for Poke we go...Do you think this is too late for the "good" stuff?

I agree with you about Foodland. We went to one on Oahu and it was delicious...but I keep reading about the other two mentioned above, and am curious if I am would be missing something great.

Another poke question for Kona

So excited, as we are landing this Friday in Kona. Our first stop, on the way to the Four Seasons, is for some Poke....Do we go where we know, meaning Foodland or would you suggest either Da Poke Shack or Umeke's?

Kona...Where to eat?

Far enough, thanks. I did hear, from the Four Seasons concierge, that Napua is open to the public now.

Kona...Where to eat?

Have any thoughts on either Jackie Rey's or Napua's? I've heard some good things on both. Curious what you think...

Kona...Where to eat?

Great suggestions and thanks. How long of a drive from the Four Seasons to Manta, would you guesstimate?

Kona...Where to eat?

Appropriate topic for me as well. Will be staying at the Four Seasons and other than restaurants within the hotel, where should we go for dinner?

Couple of L.A. foodies need help

Howdy....Early September, we two big time foodies from L.A. are arriving for 2 nights. One of our dinners is going to be at the Metropolitan Grill for some great steaks. Where would you have us go, for a great dinner the other night? Cost is not a factor, nor is cuisine, just great food....Thanks!

Foodies from L.A, need help in Lake Tahoe

Typically we eat a largeish breakfast and dinner, then dessert. Lunch is not something we do. That said, breakfast ideas would be appreciated too. We love pastries and/or donuts with great coffee.

Thanks for responding. Looks like Jimmy's and Evans will be 2 of our four nights. Still deciding on the other two.

Wow...such a wealth of knowledge. I will do some research on your suggestions. Glad to hear the restaurant in our hotel is worth going to.

Thanks so much for responding. We are staying at the new hotel called The Landing. Really excited to try it. I will look over the thread you included.

South side, but we have a car. I have "sort" of looked on the site, but it's all so confusing.

Header says it all, but we 2 foodies will be in Lake Tahoe and need some recommendations for our 4 night stay. Open to anything great, money not an important factor. Thanks in advance.

Maude reservation

Perhaps I am one of the lucky ones. I've gone 3 times now and each time, I've spent about 30 minutes re-dialing and made contact each time. I know it's a lot to put up with. Trust me, it's worth it. A wonderful evening!

Tipple and Brine...has anyone eaten there?

There were just the 2 of us. Chef's choice of oysters (12 for $34), 2 cocktails each and we shared the uni on toast (meh) Cauliflower (which was the highlight by far, really yummy) and roast chicken, not great. With T and T around $150.

Tipple and Brine...has anyone eaten there?

Had dinner there last week. To me, I'd rather spend the $150 or so elsewhere. Way too much money for this type of meal. Not bad, just not worth it.

Maude in Beverly Hills. Any early reports?

You just nailed my exact sentiment. I too, attended the artichoke meal. Without explanations, I would not have known what the theme was. That being said, it didn't matter, as the food was fantastic regardless.

Maude in Beverly Hills. Any early reports?

I agree with you...It's not fun. I called both with my land line (which is slow to re-dial) and also my cell, which ended up being the winner. Must be a "better" way!
