Laperouse - anyone been lately? (seeking nice place for very large group)

Forest, I've had lots of clients rave about Maceo's pretty room upstairs, the food and of course the wine... give Mark a call!

Restaurant Guy Savoy Set to Close and Move to the Left Bank by 2011

Chef says that he is moving his flagship Michelin-starred restaurant from the right to the left bank with an additional café by the end of 2011. Savoy will take over part of the ground floor salons of the Monnaie de Paris to install his temple of gastronomy in a succession of dining rooms where long-time friend and architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte’s partitions, windows, mirrors and lighting will set off Guy Savoy’s sculptures, paintings and other objects. The casual “Metal Café” will also be on the ground floor but in a much larger and open space - serving breakfast in addition to lunch and dinner. bit.ly/8ZOBh9

Paris in August

Le Comptoir is open in August - but they don't accept reservations (first come first serve so you can play it by ear) and won't be offering the prix fixe menu. But with value friendly wine (a house wine carafe for 11e) and a few entrees or one starter, you can easily get out with 40e. Plus, with a sunny/shaded terrace for great people watching - it is my fav spot in the city in August when you can not only park anywhere, but you can sit anywhere since the town is so enjoyable and quiet then!

Paris, solo dinner, Sunday night, near Arc de Triomphe

Klary, not sure if he is a red meat eater, but the Charbon Rouge is a very good and popular upscale steakhouse open every day and one block from the Champs Elysees with fab frites and wine. I just wrote about it here: http://www.thepariskitchen.com/restau...
