Thanks, maudies5...I have asked a few times and get a different answer each time...one waiter said no dairy, another said creme (maybe he meant creme fraiche!) the one thing I was able to establish for sure is the use of white anchovies, which I finally tracked down in the refrigerated section of Surfas. I will try your waiter's version! |

Kevin, I just discovered Europane (husband just started working in Pasadena a couple blocks away.) I will try it soon enough and give you a taste comparison. I know from seeing the egg salad at Europane that it is much better bang for the buck. |

Yeah, it is over priced. So I don't go but once in a blue moon. But when I do, I am rewarded with the very best egg salad I have ever had in my life. I mean plate licking good. Their salads are generally pretty good, but I am telling you... I would sell a kidney for the egg salad recipe... |

You might want to try Fratellis on Canon just south of Brighton on the east side of the street. And while you are there, you must try the apple fritter-absolutely worth every calorie. |

Dinner near UCLA, Royce Hall. Westwood? Don't forget Napa Valley Grill and Palomino in the village for pretty good, if formulaic, places to eat with nice atmosphere. For a bit more dress down, Noodle Planet is pretty good (for Westwood!) |

Zankou today: dry, bland chicken I never thought Zankou's chicken was all that great, but the sauce is fantastic...here's our trick: purchase the chicken from Costco and buy the sauce on the way home...it costs the same as the Costco chicken, but makes the meal! |

Dodgers Food - Any healthy choices?? Honestly, just bring in your own food (I usually bring in sushi from a japanese market.) It will be better tasting and better for you. Your bag needs to be less than 15 inches tall/wide. |

I love, love and super love the teas at Les Palais de Tea on Canon at Brighton. They have beautiful blends and the staff is very helpful. It is my go-to place for a hostess gift (for my friends who love tea...I don't bother wasting this lovely commodity on those who wouldn't appreciate it.) they have a fantastic selection, though no place to sit and enjoy. For that, you can go to Jin Patiserrie, where they serve the Palais de Tea stuff! |
