Dinner in Palm Cove, Australia

We had excellent meals everywhere we went in Palm Cove. The food at NuNu was fantastic, but expensive, we had good Thai next door, great prawns at the sea food cafe at the other end of the beach (can't remember what it was called, but it's a woman's name!).

Dinner in Palm Cove, Australia

I'm off to Palm Cove in December to celebrate my 40th and looking for somewhere to book for dinner for the big night. I am a food writer in the US, so like really excellent, high-end food, but am not so keen on silver service. Would like somewhere with excellent service, but not stuffy or pretentious. And great food. Any suggestions? I was thinking NuNu, but don't know anyone that's been there. Also, any recommendations for must-visit places for the other days and nights we are there greatly appreciated.

Recette, Peasant or Locande Verde?

Recette or Locanda - Food is slightly better/fancier at Recette, but the room at Locanda is more beautiful.

Free restaurant take-home treats

I'm researching an article on free, housemade take-home treats that restaurants give diners after having dinner. Anyone know any great ones? They have to be made in-house at the restaurant, and can be a bake mix, a drink mix, a sweet treat etc. And, they CANNOT be in NYC - but any other part of the country is great. If you've gone home with any lovely treats, let me know where and what!

Best free bread in NYC restaurants?

I'm interested to hear where New Yorkers think there is the best bread delivered gratis to the table (or with your takeout). I'm not so much interested in the fancy restaurants - more so in the little reasonably priced spots (and not just in Manhattan, but Brooklyn and Queens too) you love to go to because they serve really delicious bread! Any comments gratefully received.
