Fun, entertaining restaurants in Montreal

Mechant Boeuf is a good bet for fun & lively. It's in Old Montreal which is a great spot for walking around and finding other fun places, and although it's been around a little while the atmosphere never disappoints. To paint a picture: they have a DJ that is covered in tattoos and has a stick through his nose that plays some awesome tunes :)

I've never heard of Chien Fumant - I checked out their website, but I can't really get a feel for the food. What would you recommend from the menu?

Cute Terrasse restaurant in downtown Montreal $30-50 for 2 pp?

Well, I know you mentioned the area you want to stay within but you may have to think outside of that... more in the Old Port/Old Montreal. There is a small terrasse beside Hotel St-Paul; the rooftop patio at Hotel Nelligan is nice; Le Jardin Nelson or anywhere in the same vacinity

We've been to Le Filet before and loved it. I'll look into '3 petits bouchons'

Need restaurant recos for my chef boyfriend's birthday this Saturday!

I'm planning a dinner out this Saturday to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. It's just going to be 4 people (my best friend and her husband are coming from Toronto). Since my boyfriend works as a chef and my friends are quite the foodies, I'd like to take choose a restaurant where we can all appreciate the food and have an awesome time. Any suggestions?

Factory Bar/Resto - Has anyone been??

Thanks for the link... my mum is pretty trendy and would actually like a place like this, but maybe not for her birthday lol

chickenbruiser, I'm not sure what the concept is based on, but thanks for the comment.

Factory Bar/Resto - Has anyone been??

We're thinking of going to the newly opened Factory Bar Resto (on St-Laurent Blvd) for my mum's birthday dinner, but can't seem to find any reviews on it yet. Has anyone been? Any reviews on this spot would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Fries in Montreal

Great post BML! I'd like to add by asking if anyone know of a spot here in Montreal that serves up fries like what you would find at a chip truck in Ontario. I have had the hugest craving for last couple weeks.

Help! Where can I find scones?

I'm looking for suggestions on where I can buy really amazing scones... I just tried baking scones using a recipe I used when I lived in Australia, and it's just not working out the same. Problem is that I have a bridal shower tomorrow that I need to bring scones to. I'm just looking for a plain scone as I will be serving it with a jam butter.
Please help!
