Carrunde's Profile
Date on the Upper East Side
We went in Oct and I had a fish entree (not on the menu this month) and it was cooked PERFECTLY. It's such a warm, cozy spot and the service is timed correctly but not always the warmest. Everything we've had there over the last year has been very tasty.
If you want to get a drink before or after, there is an unmarked wine bar 2 doors down. It's to the left of the Etas Unis BAR. The bartender, Vanessa, is very knowledge and by the end of the night we had a wine we never would have tried on our own.
Enjoy!
Any dogs on my list of places to eat?
Andrew- Your update is not lost on deaf ears. Even as a NY'er, I enjoyed reading this thread and got a couple ideas for myself as well as visitors coming in Nov. Glad you enjoyed your trip so much. I was also impressed with the homework you did even before contacting the Hounders. You must have spent hours researching but sounds like it paid off. Hope you can come back again and thanks for spreading nice words to the other villagers.
LA transplant looking for great mex. and Margs
I found it. It's Florencia 13 on Sullivan between Bleecker and Houston. A friend recommended it because of the terrific fish tacos and fantastic margaritas. I went on Thurs. and it was everything she said. The owner is from LA and truly knows what he's doing. The owner was behind the bar and also waited on us and he couldn't have been nicer. The fish tacos were MUY BUENO and the pork tacos were great too. And finally, a margarita that's made correctly. It's tiny so I hate for it to get popular but the owners were so nice and the food so good, I hope they prosper in the restaurant business. Tell all your CA friends!
