I keep meaning to put something together for this, and things keep coming up.

If anyone else wants to take the reins, feel free, otherwise I'll get something done as soon as I get some downtime.

Not to attempt to sway you, but just so you know, the wings are probably not what you're picturing. They aren't "buffalo" wings.

Here's a New Times article on them. http://blogs.browardpalmbeach.com/cle...

Reviews are reasonably mixed on Rosey Baby, although I hear good things about their crawfish.

The place you're looking for in Broward might be Creolinas.

Happy Miami Spice 2010 (2 U) !!!

That's how I read it as well. Hope to give it a shot this weekend.

Its there, you just have to scroll down to page 2 of the "Dinner Menu" http://www.ilovemiamispice.com/menus%...

Your review of the regular dim sum seemed generally positive, and I'm always up for a good xiao long bao.

Visit to Grandma in Ft Lauderdale: How do I make this amazing?

if for any reason you didn't want to make the drive to Bamboo Fire (and it's definitely worth the drive) Calypso Restaurant in Pompano is also very solid.

Frod, since you've been during normal business, what's your take on the Dim Sum brunch spice menu at Hakkasan?

At a glance it seems like a better bang for your buck than the dinner, with the added bonus of a larger variety.

Any can't miss/must have dining in Hollywood?

Always forget to recommend NAOE in that area. Very good choice if you're looking for something different, although it's definitely not for everyone.

It's not a "must have" but falling in the "really good" range is Timo. It's in Sunny Isles but it's only about a 3 mile drive straight down Collins.

Stopped in tonight and had the oxtail pepperpot with okra fried rice and callaloo. It was great and Beverly and Donald were friendly as usual.

Just a note to anyone who might stop by, they mentioned they were going on vacation starting today and won't be back until next Thursday so the restaurant will be closed until then.

Quick reco for a good bite tonight between Lauderdale airport and Deerfield?

I always find it interesting that there seems to be two things that really divide people more than any other type of food. Pizza and burgers.

I've seen Charm City called everything from terrible and overhyped to the best burger someones ever had. As for me personally, I love it. I've been there a few times, and never had anything but a good burger (and the onion rings were also exceptional).

In the end though, I'm always of the opinion, that just because other people like it, doesn't mean you have to. The great thing about burgers and pizza is that there are enough places down here that serve them, sooner or later you'll find one that you'll at least be moderately happy with.

Best Chicken Parmigiana in Boca/North Broward/South P.B. County

I can't speak to their chicken parm, but I just wanted to throw in that the wings at this place are definitely a worthwhile experience. The variety is impressive, and the flavors were great, although I haven't been in a year or so.

Everything was excellent, and now the pictures are making me hungry.

Bourdain at the Lincoln Theatre

Any idea what the taco place is? Only thing I know thats right around there is La Sandwicherie, and that's definitely not a taco place.

Have you heard of persons inviting people to their home for a gourmet meal with a charge? [moved from Miami - Ft Lauderdale board]

I would actually guess that either Charlie who you heard on the radio, since he was just on Paul and Ron talking about this.

Thanks. I had tried Sedano's and had no luck, but it's possible that it's seasonal there I'd guess. I'll definitely look into El Bodegon Market.

Does anyone know where (preferably in Broward, but I'm willing to grab it while in Miami or southern PB county) I can find Lucuma, either the fruit or the powder?

Shake Shack in SOBE

A burger made out of several thousand cows sounds deliciously large.

Yelp Eats Miami

Thanks. At least there's always Q (and Fin)

Yelp Eats Miami

Good to know. I've gotten better the last 6-8 months, but I don't make it down to Miami nearly enough for dining but do my best to keep up with the scene here.

Hell, I've yet to make it to MGFD.

Yelp Eats Miami

It's that time of year, where we get tons of prix fixe menus to entice locals to eat out. Looks like Yelp is running something from 6/21 - 6/27 and it includes some different places than the Gables restaurant week. (Q and Pacific Time in particular stood out, guess it's finally time I head to an Eismann restaurant).

More information can be found here.

Coral Gables Restaurant Week

The interesting thing for me about Ortanique is, I saw their prices with menus posted well before Coral Gables restaurant week. Seems like something they were doing before and just decided to throw their name in the restaurant week hat. Nothing wrong with it, just made me laugh to know it was something that was already going on.

Hope you find something that suits your tastes. I wanted to go to Bugatti, but the "legendary" lasagna isn't included. Maybe when my office moves to the Gables next month I'll finally give the lasagna a shot.

Birthday Dinner Recomendations

After your recent review of it, would you recommend Zuma to muushupork, Frod?

It seems like if they were interested in Nobu, after reading your review, Zuma may be something they'd consider.

Coral Gables Restaurant Week

So, Coral Gables Restaurant Week is coming up , and I'm looking to do some dining. The Gables isn't an area I frequent often, and other than the chains, the only place I've actually been to that's participating is Ortanique. This seems like a good opportunity to possibly remedy that.

So CHers, any thoughts or recs?

New or Coming to Miami / Dade - 2010 Edition

Water Club officially opened last night for dinner and will be open for lunch starting on Saturday.

Chef Telles

Does anyone know what ever became of George Telles after the closing of Black Orchid Cafe years ago?

My wife and I used to love to go there, and I was wondering if he resurfaced elsewhere.

Excellent spice/tea store in Boca- Mizner Park

I've been to the Spice & Tea in Stuart and they have some really nice stuff there. It's not the best tea I've ever had, but some of their flavored sugars and spices are exceptional.

New or Coming to Miami / Dade - 2010 Edition

According a New Times post, looks like May 24th.

Everything I've seen for Zuma says May, but most of that stuff hasn't been updated for two months, so who knows.
