Since this site is about sharing, here goes. Every Christmas I've made pound cakes, slice and wrap and gift wrap a basket of at least 6 different flavors for family and friends. My kids love the tradition and over the years have started helping bake and wrap. Some our favorite recipes are: |

Southern Living's Million Dollar Pound Cake is a great, big, old-fashioned pound cake that appears in their "favorites" lists all the time. It's really terrific with a nice cup of tea. |

What can I do to save my cake? I'm with Barb, I just remove 2 T. all purpose flour rather than substituting cornstarch. If you are still inclined to use the yellow layers, perhaps layer with whipped cream, fresh fruit and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. My kids loved it when they were little. Still do. If you decide to make chocolate cake today, it will definetely keep until tomorrow. Short of a cake keeper, lots of foil and toothpicks (to prevent sticking to cake) has works well enough to keep your cake fresh. Good luck |

Can I use corn flour to make chili gravy? Want to make enchiladas for my Honey, who can't tolerate wheat flour. Can I substitute corn flour to make the chili gravy? Thanks! |

Best place for dinner in Red Bank? The Bistro on Broad St. is great for dinner. We like the sushi and Asain Caesar Salad. Teak is really popular for their lounge. Packed last time I was there, but that was a Saturday night. Know that The Downtown has a big singles crowd. I'd skip Fair Haven and meet in Red Bank (Teak or Downtown) for drinks, stay for dinner, or walk to the Bistro. Have fun! |
