Christmas drinks place?

Melrose Hotel Library Bar. Provides all of the above.

Blue Bell King Cake Ice Cream

Has anyone seen this in a local grocery store? My son in New Orleans says it is yummy. Tis the season....Mardi Gras!

Andouille Sausage - What grocery or specialty stores in Plano/N. Dallas

Kuby's in Snider Plaza (Dallas) has a pretty good andouille. Almost as good as what I buy at Dorignac's in New Orleans - makes a pretty good gumbo.

Going to New Orleans tomorrow and will have lunch at Prejean's in Lafayette - can't wait. Have been disappointed by most places locally, especially Frilly's. Had good poor boys at Wicked Poor Boy's in Richardson but the space is too small. Also had a good lunch at Flying Fish in Firewheel.

Live in McKinney - wish there was a place up here - for Saints game and LSU BCS game. Geaux Saints.

Salad dressing

Looking for a salad dressing called "Just Add Lettuce". It comes in Italian, Greek and Spanish and is great. Is it available anywhere in North Dallas. Thanks.

In Search of Andouille in Dallas!

I am from New Orleans. When I make red beans or gumbo I go to Kubys for andouille. It is a good replacement. On my last trip to NO I purchased several brands of andouille from Dorignac's. None were markedly better than Kubys. The ONLY place to buy boudin is in Southwest place in Texas.

Going to Grapevine for lunch/brunch tomorrow - any suggestions?

New Orleans Food Bloggers Coming to Vancouver and looking for guidance

I am from NO and was in Vancouver last week. I highly recommend Go Fish on Granville Island. Don't order the fish and chips but the specials of the day. Go for lunch (it is all outdoors) and visit the adjoining boats where you purchase fresh seafood with great samples.

Colorado Family in Vancouver for 3 nights and Victoria for 3 nights. We want to eat like locals...guidance please!

Outdoor fish stall. Halibut was great - wish we could have ordered everyone of the daily specials. Price so reasonable.

Roadtrip to Hot Springs

Texarkana is about the only place to find a restaurant period - many chain restaurant along I-30. I do highly recommend Bohemia in Hot Springs.

Are there any *real* Cajun/Creole restaurants in Dallas?

Thanks for the recommendation - will go there tomorrow.

Bagels in Dallas

I think the bagels at Panera's are the best I have tried. I am not from NY but from New Orleans.

Are there any *real* Cajun/Creole restaurants in Dallas?

I am from New Orleans. Ralph and Kacoos has closed in Allen and am not sure if Nate's in Allen is still open. I enjoyed a poorboy at Pure New Orleans off Jupiter and Water's Edge in Little Elm. Just returned from a trip to New Orleans and paid almost $15 for an oyster poorboy at Drago's - Parkway has not had oysters since the oil spill. I plan to go to Pappadeaux's for oysters.

Great PoBoy

Where in NOLA? We are Lakeview folks and have always thought Parkway was pretty good. for shrimp and oyster poboys. Don't know if we will be able to leave Thursday as planned with this weather. Have you tried Water's Edge in Little Elm?

Great PoBoy

Had lunch today at Pure New Orleans off Jupiter in Richardson (near Silver Fox). PoBoys were great - bread was from Gambinos Bakery in New Orleans. Shrimp and oyster poboys were great.

Meyer Lemons - where can I buy them in Dallas, TX?

Saw them at Market Street yesterday.

Need help locating Trappey's Red Beans!

I buy mine at Dorignac's in Metairie. I think Trappey's has changed ownership and no longer is manufactured in Lousiana. Great product. Made red beans today with Spicy Red Beans.
