I have seen it on the west-coast and midwest... this is what it looks like at this review-site..

Trader Joe's YAY/NAY - April 2014

I have had both--but I am speaking about the one in the Bakery section (NOT frozen), and I really liked that one. It is rich and fudge-like without the Matilda-overload factor that the frozen one had. When I was at an outdoor concert last year on the west-coast, I noticed many people brought it and liked it.. yet I hadn't had it until yesterday, and I would definitely buy it again.

YAY-Flourless chocolate torte--Very fudgy. In fact, I'll probably forget my oven and brownie recipe and just get this when I need to bring a treat to a party.

Is this a new product or perhaps a seasonal/local product? I have never heard of this.

Date.... ordering seafood?

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I was planning to ask what he was ordering, if he would mind, etc.. etc., etc.., --however, I was almost positive that I would just stick to fish, regardless. (I am who I am: take or leave it.) I just wanted to toss out this post because of the childish/rude comments I have gotten from others about being a pescatarian over the years.

And I did order fish--as planned. It all went well. Thanks to all!

Date.... ordering seafood?

No worries: I never heat fish. It was tuna--although I figured out fast people detested the smell--and never brought it in again.

Date.... ordering seafood?

Yes, I would--then I would just stick to vegetarian/vegan food. He eats meat. I would be 'almost' 100% positive he isn't a chow-type: at all--which is also fine to me; I have no problem making meat-dishes and veg-dishes, and it's apparent that I can cook+bake.. and he can turn on a microwave and open a fridge. That's fine because he has plenty of other extraordinary hobbies/qualities to bring to the (metaphoric) table.

I am not trying to get ahead of myself--I just don't want to be revolting.

Date.... ordering seafood?

There's Ahi Tuna dishes.. which if I was going to pick anything would be my first choice, but I concerned--especially since he hates sushi--that it will disgust him (since I heard him say he doesn't like sushi). ..I don't want one dish-choice to put a stop to this.

Date.... ordering seafood?

First date. We're going to a pub, and I know he doesn't like sushi (I am not sure where he stands on fish).. would you avoid ordering grilled salmon, Ahi Tuna salad, fish tacos, etc., in order to avoid the possibility to turning him off?

I suppose I ask because I have friends that abhor fish, and I have to leave the office if I brought fish for lunch.. because it turns them off.. so now I am not sure what to do. There is a veggie burger on the menu, but I would feel odd using my hands on a date..

Thanks for your suggestions.

I was shocked: I hate coconut.. and I actually LOVED the coconut one. (Whereas I love fig and bought it just to try the fig one.. and I didn't think it was that grand.) And I also wanted to try the salted caramel.. however, that wasn't as good as the lemon. Especially if I was having a tea or small get-together, I could easily purchase again for a quick treat.

I had it about a year ago, and it was actually worth it for $6. You cannot get a pre-made rich cake for $6 anywhere these days--especially if you would rather have ganache/fudge instead of whipped or buttercream.--Also I did believe that it was better than their bakery-section cakes. So if you're in a pinch for a picnic or birthday party, I would say go for the ganache cake in the freezer than the bakery-section cakes.

Battling "condimentia"

Condiments=entire top self of my fridge.

I don't even try to manage it.. and I probably go through at least 2 bottles Ketchup every week (and I buy the low-sugar, natural kind that is $2.68 a bottle)... and I water it down just to make it last longer.

Migraines: Coffee vs. Coke?

It's never mattered which kind. There's obviously conflicting information on the web.. that it is a trigger or a cure.. but all I know is that it is a trigger for me so I have to try to avoid it.

Easter Candy 2014 -- your new finds and tried and true faves?

New this year at Target is Angie's Confetti Cake Popcorn.. it was incredible. I might have to get some again--it was so good that I would hands-down rather have that than any candies.

Migraines: Coffee vs. Coke?

I think it is very different for different people--but I have had a migraine for the last two days (following the stomach flu, but I think the migraine was brought-on by chocolate: big trigger for me), and I did not have the energy to make coffee.. I finally made some and within a few hours, my migraine started to go away. For me coffee always helps.

OH MAN: as the #1 marinated mushroom fan, I might have to buy a food processor just to make that!!!

I had the same issue with the chocolate macaroons--but liked the vanilla, and $5 is steep to just eat the 5 vanilla ones.. so I never bought them again

Wow: that looks crazy decedent and makes me realize that I am not sure I can eat all these sweet things by myself...

MEH/?--Blondie in a box--These are in the oven right now.. I was bringing them tonight for my friend's birthday, but I am not sure if they will turn out. I followed the directions and used Kerrygold.. but it became so greasy, I thought I was going to pass-out due to disgust just stirring it together.

YAY--Mini watermelon--tastes like summer and not bland like other giant grocery-store melons.

Not to make you paranoid, but there have been issues/discrepancies with some labels (especially condiments) in the past. --Regardless, I hope it is correct!

Ha, my older parents are aghast that (even as an adult) I am venturing alone and to ease their minds I promised to call their old travel-agent who stated: "NO using the metro"--so indeed, I will not be using said travel-agent for anything.

Thank you... I will definitely be using La Fourchette because I hate relying on others to do my work for me (the hotel probably has enough to do).

3 questions--all presumably stupid questions:
1.) Just to clarify: you can order at EVERY restaurant a la Carte.. or at some will you need to order starter+main+dessert?
2.) If one is there a week, would it be suggested to reserve 'every' meal or maybe just once a day and let the other fall to inspiration?
3.) Even on Fouchette.. some of the menus/boards are only in French: should I expect most restaurants will have the menu in French and mostly 'never' in English? (I don't mean to be a snobby-expectant American: I speak 3 languages and French is not one of them.. so if I need to learn food words then I want to know now.)

Paris Must-try Desserts/Baked Goods, Chocolates, Candies, etc.

I have read already many posts by David Lebovitz and some by other blogs about top-sweets in Paris--however, I am looking for some of the sweets favored by people on Chowhound. So if you have any 'must-try' places please let me know--I am staying in the Latin Quarter but intend to venture around (despite that I was told the Metro is too dangerous--Pssh, must get around somehow!). Thank you for your suggestions!

I will also be dining alone for a number of nights in Paris, and I have a stupid question (pardon me, I have not been out of the US since I was a child): what is the best way to make reservations?--Wouldn't it be very expensive to use my cell-phone from the US? I was not planning to have my laptop--would that be the preferred way?

What are your favorite restaurants in Paris that don't cost a fortune or take months to get a reservation?

Thanks for the link to ParisbyMouth--although now I am a bit overwhelmed!

I suppose since I am not really a cheese/bread person, I will just drink champagne the whole time and eat truffles (the mushroom) besides the occasional macaron or mountain of seafood.

I am scared to buy that pepper+eggplant dip.. wouldn't it be easy to eat the whole jar (glass included, of course).

Ew: I bought Cape Cod Kettlecorn.. not as good as TJoe's. I think it also helps that I open all chips/snacks from bottom of bag--so I get the overloaded-sweetest pieces first.

My TJ's does not double-bag.. but I will have to ask next time. I bring reusable bags everywhere else, but I like the size of their bags because I use them for other tasks.
