Nantucket off-season/high-end; oxymoron?

Most island restaurants are closed for the winter and will reopen in April. Fine dining restaurants open off-season are Fifty-Six Union, Dune, and Pazzo. For a full list, see http://www.nantucket.net/food/fine.php

Le Languedoc, Nantucket

This restaurant is among the island's best. They serve a superb signature baked stuffed lobster, classic and very well done lobster bisque, fabulous roast chicken, terrific sweetbreads, and more! To shave costs, try their bar menu -- if you can find a seat!

Nantucket Bay Scallops

Get them from the source! Call Sayle's Seafood on Nantucket -- they'll pack them and ship them to you. 508-228-4599. Keep in mind, scallops are not plentiful here this season, and that will affect the price.

Looking for a foodie's restaurant in Philly to celebrate my 50th

We're coming in from MA to meet up with family and celebrate my 50th b-day. There are 13 of us and we're going out on a Friday (seems that our first couple of choices won't take large parties on a Friday night!). Half of us are foodies, one is a chef, and the others just like "American food." We're staying at The Independent. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Culinary Adventures in Nantucket?

Absolutely go to Daily Breads-- their breads and their cookies are great, and they have HUGE slices of very good pizza. Nantucket Bake Shop has the best donuts -- a wide variety made right there early in the morning. Centre Street Bistro for lunch and for dinner -- sit on their patio -- and Oran Mor for dinner. If you head out of town, AK Diamonds has very good pulled pork nachos.Avoid Corazon, it's overpriced and mediocre. Ditto on Lo La 41 -- very pricy and not great.

Nantucket deals

Centre Street Bistro for sure! Great food and lunch can be $12 or less per person. Easy Street Restaurant & Seafood House has some very good food and most entrees are under $16. Rose & Crown has an early bird lobster special for $19 per person.

Nantucket with an infant (looking for great restaurants for lunch & early dinner)

SeaGrille would be a good choice for dinner and Centre Street Bistro on their outdoor patio for lunch (their dining room is tiny). The Ropewalk has outdoor dining and Easy Street Restaurant & Seafood House is a good choice for casual food. Don't go to American Seasons or to Boarding House with a baby!

Best Ethnic Nantucket Restaurant

If you want sushi, don't go to LoLa -- go to Sushi by Yoshi! Stay out of Corazon del Mar, they're overpriced and overrated. Ditto with The Pearl. Town offers Indian fare. American Seasons is perfect for something different (not exactly ethnic food, though). El Rincon for authentic Salvadoran. Siam to Go for Thai. But if you're on Nantucket, try for local seafood!

Nantucket Lunch Help Needed

Galley is great for lunch, though pricey -- I'd go for cocktails at sunset instead. For an economical visit to 21 Federal, go early and score a seat at the bar for appetizers. Avoid the Boarding House! For dinner: Oran Mor, American Seasons, or Centre Street Bistro. For lunch: Toppers (if you have the cash!), Easy Street Restaurant (not cantina) for casual, Centre Street Bistro. For a fun bar scene: 56 Union.
