1st visit to Vegas for a concert- will I regret my choices??

The steak at carnevino is excellent (I always get the ribeye for 2). The sides were underwhelming. the barbacoa ravioli that was on special was fine but I wouldn't order it again.

For a more balanced meal maybe Ramsay steak would be a better option. Steak is very nice and solid sides. The sticky toffee dessert is sooo good :)

Pre-Theater menus

I'm coming to vegas around the 4th of july and was looking for some excellent pre-theater dinners. I'm going to be with people who won't enjoy longer dinners and I really enjoyed the pre-T menu at le cirque last time so I was hoping that y'all could recommend some other nice restaurants with quick 3 course menus that would be similar. Staying at the palazzo this time and anything on strip would work well for us. TIA

Prelog's brunch

sounds great. looking forward to some dinner reviews. seems to have a pretty small menu, hope it lives up to the hype!

Go-Tos and Wish List

sorry, yes, those are my go-to's. I've been to most of the other nice restaurants that are talked about here (e, savoy, JR) and although they were all very good I enjoy meals at twist and le cirque as much for a lot less $$

Go-Tos and Wish List

Carnevino - ribeye for 2 (I wasn't a fan of the sides we got)
Le Cirque - desert, specifically the souffle's. Sadly no grand marnier available anymore.
Twist - best all around meal
LOS - great food at a value
Raku - missed it this time around

LAGO | Julien Serrano at The Bellagio

it was after 10PM and options were limited after a day of travel. and we were staying at the bellagio... The price point was just outrageous. $16 for a tiny portion of mediocre canneloni? I don't mind paying for good food but the selections I had were just not worth it.

I went last night and the food was fine. It seemed way too expensive even after factoring in the strip markup. I should have gone to secret pizza...

RIP April 2015

I think they closed after valentines day. I like the foie gras at jeffrey's.

Lunch -- yes, but where?

If this is what you're looking for carnevino might fit the bill. Doesn't seem like too many choices for upscale before 5pm

Lunch options

Hi, I'm going to be in vegas next week for a convention and was looking for some lunch options. I usually go to LoS but any other options that put out great food at lunch time? Not opposed to a cab ride. Staying at the bellagio. Any cuisine is fine. TIA

Tasting menu for only 1 diner

Is your other half going to be ok staring at you eat for a few hours? Thats the problem I run into :)

Poured my heart into this food+tech startup (Oakenspoon) to connect Austin Personal Chefs with customers - Would love your feedback and criticism!

per person?! thats insane. I spend a lot on dining out but I don't think I could justify that price considering the alternatives that are available for a much lower price point.

Picasso - any recent experiences?

ok, thanks for the info. I guess I'll cross picasso off the list. speaking of the le cirque white truffle menu (http://www.bellagio.com/files/restaur...)... were all of the dishes spectacular? Any misses?

the economics of this doesn't seem to make much sense to me. it looks like the meals are 100pp. You can eat at any of the great restaurants in Austin for less then that, right? I don't see much of a market at those prices...

Picasso - any recent experiences?

I'm heading to vegas in April for my annual convention and we're staying in the bellagio this year. I haven't been to picasso before but was thinking I'd stop by this time. Searching this board I hadn't seen any recent reports. Anyone know if its worth a trip or should I just have another meal at le cirque?

Birthday During SxSW

I haven't been back to wink in a while. The tables are so close together and the dining room gets LOUD! not always a bad thing but not great for an intimate dinner. I'd go with Carillon or LaV. Barley Swine has a lot of great plates (but always a few misses) and is good if you don't mind the communal seating.

Restaurants with lean red meat options?

FYI: http://www.latimes.com/science/scienc...

the government is finally getting ready to admit that they were wrong about food. saturated fat isn't the killer that they thought it was. Carbs seem to be the culprit.

So enjoy that juicy ribeye but only have a few bites of those mashed potatoes. :)

Barlata - what to get?

oh, I might have seen you there. Went back at 5:30 today but they only do happy hour in the bar area and I hate the communal seating... the seasoning was very off today on a few of the same dishes we had yesterday. guess they have some consistency issues... by the way the mel i mato was great, I loved the ice cream that came with it.

Barlata - what to get?

Thanks, I had several really nice dishes. The chorizo was excellent. that and the garlic shrimp were my favorites. Didn't have a bad dish. They had a condensed menu so it made choosing easier. some others we enjoyed were the arroz negre, the iberico tenderloin, pork belly, and the brandada. She enjoyed her chocolate mousse desert. I'll definitely be back :)

Barlata - what to get?

I'm going for dinner tomorrow night for the first time and was perusing the menu which turns out to be huge. Do you guys have any recommendations? it's going to be just two of us so I'm thinking 6 or 7 plates would suffice...

Anglophiles take note - your breakfast is here....

I had brunch there today. the bangers were great and mushrooms were good when I added a bit of salt. not a fan of english bacon (which is I guess canadian bacon?) and the eggs were a little overcooked for my taste. No free refills on my iced tea :( not a lot of seating but I'm eager to go back for fish and chips some friday.

they were out of pasty's which looked really good. hopefully they'll be available next time...

Who has best BBQ in San Marcos?

not a lot of choices... I've only been to black's and it is very inconsistent. the first time it was sublime (think LA bbq) but future visits had been mediocre.

New Reality Show Will Feature 4 Austin Restaurants

I liked how they were called out for their semi-customized menu. When I went I was disappointed that I got the same exact plates as my better half even though we made it clear we had very different tastes. maybe they should change their slogan to "kinda couture, but sometimes off the rack"

Trying to pick that one weekend brunch spot...

I enjoyed veranda as well. I don't go to many buffets but was pleased with the quality of the food here. didn't have a massive line either.

Fixe Austin's Southern House

I went last night and there were positives and negatives. the lobster/crawfish pot pie was very good and so were the quail grits. I also enjoyed the boudin very much.

The biscuits that they are so proud of were fine, but I just had much better ones at salty sow last week.

The beef tendon tasted like chicharrones. nothing spectacular. the hot sauce was very nice though.

Fried chicken was mediocre. If you like Lucy's you might like this.
