Best steakhouse in Phoenix

BLT Steak hands down. I'v been to everyone listed above and although some are good, BLT is the best. In my humble opinion. The steaks are amazing and their pop-overs are out of this world.

AZ Restaurant Week 2010

Went to Talavera. Beautiful Resort and would recommend going for Happy Hour but was disappointed with the food. Bisque was barely warm, Steak had little flavor and the lava cake tasted just like the one I had from Dominoes Pizza and a child's birthday party.

J&G was equally disappointing with the exception of the salad. It was a shrimp and avocado salad with a champagne vinaigrette. If it would have had a little less dressing it would have been perfect. Very flavorful and the shrimp were perfectly prepared. The steak was a joke and it came with french fries. I don't think J&G took this seriously. The whole point is to give people an opportunity to try a new place and maybe earn their business. BLT succeeded in this last year. J&G wasn't even close.

We went to Fogo but had been there before. If you like Meat this is a decent place.

We went to Donovans last night and I have to say although I'm not a fan of Fillet Mignon is was good. The Bisque was perfect temperature and good as well. I wasn't a fan of the deserts but my wife liked it. We decided to bring our two young boys and the wait staff was great with them. I will go back and try a ribeye.

Also we did localdines.com which was an $80.00 gift card for $40.00. They allowed us to use it for RW. Took a $39pp meal down to $20pp. Couldn't beat that.

Although the website says you can't do it, you can. We even called ahead just to make sure. I think tonight is the last night so if there are any gift certs left happy eating.

Sonoran hot dogs in Phoenix?Ar

I agree.

There are no good Sonoran Hot Dogs in Phoenix. It's BK's and El Guero Canelo in Tucson. Can't find anything close and I live in Phoenix and have tried many.

It's only an hour and half from PHX and worth the drive if that's the only thing you do.

Hot Dogs @ Joe's Farm Grill...

We sampled 6. Our top 3 were Ruben, Buffalo, and Carolina. The Ruben was put together well and had the right amount of each ingredient. (except the hot dog, see below) The Buffalo was ok as was the Carolina.

We also tried the Sonoran, 3B, and Cordon Bleu.

If you've ever been to Tucson they have the best Sonoran Hot Dogs so I wasn't impressed. The 3B was ok, but we didn't finish it. The Cordon Bleu was a small bite each and in the garbage. Not a fan. I also didn't like the actual hot dog on any of them. If they would do a Hebrew National I think the dogs would have been much better.

Always like to try new things and appreciate you posting it. Had no idea they did this.

Hot Dogs @ Joe's Farm Grill...

Had no idea it was Hot Dog week. We will be heading over there tonight. Thanks.

Where are the best baby back ribs?

Not sure if you've tried Joe's BBQ in Gilbert but their ribs are pretty good. They also have a good selection of other items.

AZ Restaurant Week 2010

We did Bourbon Steak and BLT last year and they were both great. I've been to Morton's and Ruth Chris many times before and will say Bourbon and BLT are better in so many ways. I've not been to Donovan's and am planning on going there Sunday night. Disappointed to see the negative review above.

I was having a conversation the other day with a friend. Has anyone looked up each menu item being offered for RW and compared the pricing with the actual restaurant to see which is the best "deal"? Just wondered if anyone had done that.

We're going to Talavera on Saturday and BLT on Tuesday. Looking forward to any other suggestions the CH can provide.

I'm sorry to bother everyone but last minute help needed on two lunches and one dinner...

Just want to thank everyone for their prompt replies.

We had Lunch on Friday at City View and it was good. Friday dinner @ La Ciccia was fantastic. I had the Lamb and my wife had a Semolina Gnochetti with Pork meats Sugo and 9 Months Pecorino. Great little restaurant and will return. Friday night we went to a place called Candy Bar (serve dessert and drinks only). Sat for several hours playing Battle Ship, and enjoying PB&J as well as Strawberry Limeaide. Very Good.

Saturday morning made it over to the Ferry Building and have to say that's the best farmers Market I've been to. What a selection. We wished we had a fridge and a bbq for dinner.

We tried to have lunch @ Nopa (didn't know they weren't open for lunch). The back door was open and I went down into the kitchen to see if they could recommend anywhere in the area. The Chef talked to me for a good 10 minutes about various cuisine and recommended a place called Bar Jules which is just down the street.

I had a burger and my wife had an egg, bacon, and tomato sandwich. Wow. The food was awesome. The servers were wound a little tight but the food more than made up for it.

We really enjoyed our food journey and again appreciate everyone's suggestions.

I'm sorry to bother everyone but last minute help needed on two lunches and one dinner...

Just got a 5:45pm reservation @ La Ciccia. The website doesn't look familiar but the food looks great. Thanks.

Just looked the other two dim sum locations up and City View it is. That will be tomorrow's lunch.

One more lunch. Any other suggestions? Thanks again.

I'm sorry to bother everyone but last minute help needed on two lunches and one dinner...

We're flying in tomorrow morning and out Saturday afternoon staying in Union Square area. I've spent the last 3 days searching this and several other sites for good meals and now can't seem to find the ones that sounded interesting.

We were thinking breakfast at Ferry Building Marketplace on Saturday Morning. (this is all I retained during my research)

I read about a small Italian Restaurant that had great food and was off the beaten path. I really like seafood with Italian and my wife doesn't. We're fine spending the money for something like Acquerello if it's that good, but tend to enjoy less familiar fare.

The other meal was something I read on a gathering of taco trucks on Friday nights. Can someone tell me what that is and if it's going on tomorrow?

For lunch we really can't make our minds up. We're from Phoenix and enjoy everything from Pizzeria Bianco to T Cooks. (posted this in case anyone's been to phx)

We've talked about Dim Sum, and great sandwiches.

I'm sorry if this isn't enough detail, just trying to figure this out before tomorrows lunch!!

Thanks.

Thoughts on Obelisk? Others for DC visit?

Minibar is fantastic

Beef Jerky - The search for the best

I actually just ordered your sampler from your recommendation and it came in the mail today. I am a huge fan of HF Jerky and unfortunately what I got was not what I was looking for. Your beef jerky is good, but it's not the same as what I used to get @ HF. Wonder if anyone knows who made it. If I recall back in the mid to late 80's it was close to $20.00 a pound. I'd pay $100 if I could get it again.

Again the Gary Jerky is good, just not HF good. Thanks
