New PC Insider's Report

have not yet had a 'special' ice cream from PC that is good.

Fat Bastard Burrito Co.

i ate at the new Queen St location too and had the exact same thing happen...maybe it's the girl making the burrito, but literally one pepper slice and applied guac like a thin butter spread..total opposite of the Queensway location where toppings are super super generous...i actually laughed as she was making it. Hoping she is just a bad burrito maker..

Caterer needed in Mississauga

I used to use Gourmet on the Go on lakeshore...it has been a couple of years but I always had great events with them..

Where to buy bitters downtown

Yes, it's BYOB and you're right on the selection of bitters....cute cocktail things all around

Are You Snacking on Anything Right Now?

special K chips...original flavour..and a glass of white wine..

Joey's - Eaton Centre

the food isn't horrible..i've been for a few lunches and it's standard fare...i likes all the meal salads/ sandwiches/tacos i've had there..no complaints on the food I've eaten.
It's exactly what it's marketed as..a higher end chain good for groups/ after work..

best salads in Toronto- 2012

the root salad at URSA the best salad I've had in a long time

Suggestion(s) needed: hipster place with good seafood and veg options

URSA would be good too

Vegetarian Restaurant Recommendations

Yours Truly is a new place on Ossington getting tonnes of buzz...though west of Bathurst by a few blocks it has a vegatarian and meat option tasting menu...have heard great things but haven't tried myself yet

Wi-Fi Cafes in Mississauga ...

although a chain..Panera by Square One is great...I really love all the food and unlimited coffee/wifi...another favorite is Yellow Cup Cafe at Dundas/427

What are your favorite crackers?

Where do you live?? These certainly exist in Toronto...I have a fresh box in my pantry!

Best cupcakes in T.O.?

I bought 6 cupcakes at Dlish on Queen St W...it was hit and miss...the carrot cake (my favorite) were spot on, perfect cream cheese icing and two thumbs up...peanut butter chocolate also very good...a couple of them seemed very stale. I was disappointed that none of the cake part were moist. They are on the dry/heavier side which isn't my preference. Unfortunately, 3 of the 6 were certainly stale they were so dry. The icing was good on all of them though..

New..The Big Fish on Queen/Spadina

of course i tried the fries! they offer salad as a side, but when going for fried fish...chips is a must.
I thought the fries we're good....hard to give a detailed report because we did take out and I find take out fries are not a fair assessment and hard to compare to eat in......
standard good take out chips, but again would like to try in shop...i love chips that are both crispy and soft and I eat them all!

New..The Big Fish on Queen/Spadina

Just tried the new Big Fish on Queen just west of Spadina..I hear it's the same owners as Reliable Fish n' Chips in Leslieville..

I had the Scallops and BF had the haddock....very good, light. classic crispy batter. I'm not a fan of Chippys or Harbord fish n' chips, so have been craving a good place in the neighbourhood...

I liked how they skewered the scallops and were battered and fried on the stick so it resembles a fish fillet when served.
They also offered grilled fish sandwiches which sounded great and organic burgers....

Good find!

best salads in Toronto- 2012

Really enjoyed the shrimp salad at Utopia on College this week.....

Nathans Hot Dogs

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but Brunchworks on St. Clair serves Nathan's on their menu..prints it right on the menu in fact!

Easter Brunch

Frank at the AGO is open and takes reservations...

need hip, trendy, delicious resto recommendations please

You may want to check out barchef for cocktails...probably the best cocktail place in town...but you pay for it! Almost like molecular gastronomy of drinks...cool place to check out.
Also The Drake hotel is a good place...

need hip, trendy, delicious resto recommendations please

Origin is an idea...tapas and very trendy/hip/buzzing place...always packed so reservations are a good idea

Cinnamon powdered Tim Hortons in TO...

Okay, I know..not very chowhoundish of me..but I've been having a craving for a cinnamon powdered Tim Hortons donut for weeks and have been unable to see one anywhere...
anyone spot a toronto tim's location that offers them?
Not sure why I've been craving one for so long..I haven't had one in years!

King and Dufferin on Sunday around noon---lunch or dessert/bakery ideas?

ditto on The Drake...if you are willing to go a couple blocks east to Queen St/Trinity Bellwoods..Clofouti and Nadage are both amazing places for bakery/croissants...some of the best in the city...

Quick lunch at King and Spadina?

Zoe's bakery is wonderful! They have tonnes of options of sandwiches and salads and are amazing!!

Dinner and Dancing Venue - would appreciate recommendations

yep..lula first thing that came to mind.

ISO Crepe dishes!

a new place on Queen W just opened with savoury meal crepes...Chococrepe

further west, Yellow Cup Cafe on Dundas/427 area have huge really good savoury crepes too

Fat Bastard Burrito Co.

What I like about Mucho Burrito is that you can get tacos...it's a good way to try a couple of meats..I like to get a hard shell and a couple soft shells..
I like the tilapia option

Fat Bastard Burrito Co.

I saw a sign in a window on Queen W that Fat Bastard Burritos is opening up..around Ossington area

Ravisoups

after swearing off this place for horrible service, ended up back with a friend who really wanted to go.
we ate in and I was happy it took under half an hour to serve a bowl of soup. It was very good as well.
My huge frustration with this place besides sloowww service on Queen St, is that when you eat in you get a decent serving size of soup.
Order take out, and for the same price you get about 1/4 the amount of soup.

HELP! Authetic wood burning oven pizza place west of the GTA

Il Fornello has a spot in Oakville at Dorval and Upper Middle..and Burlington has a newish pizza place the Big Tomato i've heard good things about..

Timothy's Coffee issues

sorry, but kinda have to agree that if I was working there that day, I'd think you were crazy too..You can see the pastry you are buying..it's a coffee shop, not a gourmet pastry destination restaurant....not sure what more you expect?
..and actually i have to say i've had the skor brownie there and thought it was really good.
i tend to keep my expectations low when dealing with a simple chain coffee place..just a suggestion.

Worst in Toronto 2010/2011

Ravi Soup on Queen...
I actually really like the food, but the service and take out are absolutely atrocious.
waited 30 min for a take out soup. Really? others around me were in the same boat and we were all furious.
As for the take out...the serving you get in maybe 3/4 cup of soup for about $9. the slaw described with lots of ingredients was a half cup of spinch with 2 tiny pineapple morsels.
If you dine in you get a proper meal of soup..about 2 cups, but pay the same amount for takeout and get about 1/4 the soup is a total ripoff
