Anh Hong Dorchester
I like Brother's Crawfish which is across the street and closer to Fields Corner. It's a Vietnamese restaurant that specializes in crawfish boils. Lots of tasty flavors. There is also a good Vietnamese restaurant just outside Fields Corner station on Dorchester Ave. I can't think of the name off hand.
Il Casale..and Bruins win!
Wow, I was looking forward to trying Sweet Cheeks. A bad bartender can ruin a night. Go B's (not to be confused with your reference to B)!
Financial District dinner recommendation for family please
Isn't Chuck E Cheese loud? What's wrong with bringing kids to a loud place. Slate on Broad Street is another option.

Lobster Rolls and Chowder near Fenway Park
Try the Ipswich and Berkshire Brewing Co. lines of beer while you're here. They are some of the best in the area. Notch is a pretty good line and are all session beers as far as I know.
Lobster Rolls and Chowder near Fenway Park
I think Mike's is closed for renovations.
Thoughts on boston's CRUMBS Cupcakes
I saw $3.95. They're the best I've had and they're huge. I love chocolate, but they might be a little too chocolate-centric for most.
2 for 1 cupcakes and free coffee this morning at Crumbs Bake Shop across from 175 Federal Street
The new chain bake shop has great cupcakes. I had the Blackout and the Grasshopper. If you're interested, go to the Crumbs website here for the coupon: http://www.crumbs.com/news/article/155
Dinner in Dot
1. Tavolo in the new Carruth building next to Ashmont Station.
2. Pho2000 on Adams Street west out of Fields Corner Station.
3. Savin Kitchen & Bar outside Savin Hill Station (much improved since they opened).
4. Singh's Roti on Columbia Rd. (good Cape Verdean place a few doors down from there that I can't think the name of right now).
Where to eat lunch in downtown Boston?
Boston Kabob House at Liberty Square
Al's State Street Subs on State Street
UBurger on Tremont Street
Blue, Inc on Broad Street
Also, do you mean Hot Tomatoes?
Burrito place next to Hot Tomatoes is good
February 2012 Openings and Closings
I walked in the door yesterday, and it looked like a business meeting was going on. Not open yet.
In the mood for good Lo Mein, any suggestions?
I like Best Little Restaurant in Chinatown.
January 2012 Openings and Closings
Add Sweet on School St. (I think that's it), Sportello on Congress Street in South Boston, and the Kickass Cupcake van at South Station. Too many!
January 2012 Openings and Closings
Aren't there enough cupcake shops? The best I've had by far are from Cakeology on Province Street. That should be the one and only in the area.
Beer restaurants in Boston?
OK, but I'll take the term "beer restaurant" over "gastropub" any day.
Beer restaurants in Boston?
I think many posts are going outside of the topic, but I might be wrong. There are no restaurants I have been to that accentuate beer and serve above average food on the whole, although I heard Lord Hobo has a new chef. Unfortunately, Publick House in Brookline might be the closest. Places like Sunset Grill, John Harvard, Boston Beer Works, Yard House, British Beer Company, Bukowski's serve Cheesecake Factory level quality food. Deep Ellum might be a little better, based on the chili and burger I had. Hungry Mother is a great restaurant that has a nice beer selection, but it's probably not a "beer restaurant".
Quincy Peeps: Italy's Little Kitchen?
It's in a building across the street from the Quincy Center train station. I think it's right next to the bus entrance. It's awesome by Quincy standards which equals OK for most anywhere else.
Sliced Fish Szechuan Style - Gourmet Dumpling House
Everything I've had, and watched others have, looks and tastes great. I plan to drop by around 2:30pm or so for something new. Might try the Spicy Salt & Pepper Pork Chops.
Sliced Fish Szechuan Style - Gourmet Dumpling House
I had this yesterday (D28 on the take out menu). It was delicious. I ate it with a spoon. My only problem with GDH is the wait. Is there ever a time during the day when there is NOT a line? Really cramped in there.
Recommendations near Boston Common for New Year's Eve
Intermission lounge is close to Boylston Station. Silvertone is good but might not be open until 5pm. There are many places around Boston Common/Public Garden. You should probably specify what you want to eat and what streets you plan to be near. I think Paramount on Charles Street is great, but the closest train station is Charles Street on the red line (which is terrible).
December 2011 Openings and Closings
I think I went before they were officially open. And yes, the person at the counter alluded to the time it would make the burger medium-well. Maybe he was doing some wishful thinking.
December 2011 Openings and Closings
Yeah, I read about The Federal. I guess it made three years. Oh, well. Maybe I'll brave the onslaught today if they're willing to bump it up to medium well.
December 2011 Openings and Closings
There's a place named Griddler's Burger & Dogs that opened on Cambridge Street near the fire station. They only cook the 4 oz. burgers to medium (prefer medium-well). The reasoning was that "they won't have time to cook them longer". Strange because the place was close to empty. I think it was 6$ + for a double burger.
Belle Isle or Neptune..
One is a dilapidated seafood shack with maybe three stools for wall seating, and the other is an upscale seafood restaurant. They are not alike at all except the attitude of some of the staff members. I think the closest train station to Belle Isle is Orient Heights which is pretty far. Neptune is about two Dwight Evans' stones throws from Haymarket station. I suggest Neptune even though it's out of your price range. I had a Belle Isle lobster roll last Saturday and was disappointed. The Neptune owner is sometimes behind the bar. He can be obnoxiously arrogant. The women at the Belle Isle counter can be miserable and testy.
